HOMECOMING!!!
On Monday, October 26th, we will honor our senior fall athletes & parents in cross country, sideline cheerleading, and football. The game will begin at 6:30 pm. The cross country and sideline cheer athletes will be recognized at about 6:15 pm (line-up at 6:00 pm). The football seniors will be honored after the 1st quarter. We will also recognize our senior homecoming court at halftime. Parents, athletes, and the homecoming court will need to line-up at the north end of the football field. We will allow 4 spectators per participant.
The high school celebrated Homecoming this week by dressing up. The Middle School will be celebrating with dress-up days next week to show their Concord pride. The days are listed below. We encourage everyone in middle school to join in!
Middle School
Monday - Pajama Day
Tuesday - Favorite Sport Day
Thursday - Twin Day
Friday - Purple and Gold Day

We would ask all parents to pre-assess their child for a temperature and any symptoms before bringing them to one of these events. IF YOUR CHILD DOES NOT FEEL GOOD KEEP THEM HOME!!
Hope to see you there!

VOCABULARY DAY
Concord Elementary’s Third Annual
Vocabulary Word Dress Up Day!!!
On October 30, Concord Elementary will be having our third annual Vocabulary Word Dress Up Day! Students can choose an interesting word and dress-up to match its definition. The words students choose do not have to be a spelling word. For example, I could choose the word “swarm” and dress-up as a beekeeper, or I could choose the word “mixed-matched” and dress up in mixed-matched clothing. Students must come to school already dressed in their vocabulary day outfit. Students should also wear a sign of the vocabulary word they are dressed up as (see picture below).
Students are not allowed to bring or wear the following:
-No Costumes** -No Halloween Props -No Face Paint
(Masks, weapons, etc.)
****Student’s outfits should be made and put together with things they already have. Outfits should not be store-bought costumes.****
There will not be a parade for Vocabulary Word Dress Up Day. The day will be treated just like a normal spirit day. Please feel free to be creative and have fun. If you need additional ideas, search: “Vocabulary Word Parade” on Pinterest.
Elementary and Middle School SEL Corner
Our students did a fantastic job learning about Self-Awareness skills this year! In both buildings, students have reported that they enjoyed learning about "grit" the most.
Starting next week we are transitioning from our Self-Awareness Learning Area to a Self-Management Learning Area. This means that the ES will begin working on traits within a new Focus Area, starting with: self-control. Our MS students will begin a new Good Human Focus Area, "I control my own emotions and behaviors."
REPEATED UPDATES AND REMINDERS SECTION
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent-teacher conferences are an outstanding time to strengthen the home and school partnership. We are a team, so this is the perfect time to discuss your child's progress. This connection is critical. I have bolded the word discuss because we do not want this to be a one-way conversation. We need to hear your voice so we can better educate your student. We look forward to seeing you there!!
