PRINCIPAL'S NOTE
I hope that you all received the communication on Monday outlining how PES will make up our power outage day. Unfortunately, Maine Department of Education requires us to make up at least five hours.
We are shifting teachers' professional learning to the end of the day on Wednesdays during the month of May. Students will attend school for an additional hour on May 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st by attending school from 8:15 to 3:00.
Buses will pick up students for the 8:15 start time and drop them off as they would all other days. I have spoken with the bus department, and have been assured that Mr. Vande and Miss Megan will be driving our students on these dates.
I hope to see many of you at Morse High School tonight for the STEM City event. Our students are eager to share their work with you!
EAT THE RAINBOW
April 10 - 14 is our Eat the Rainbow Week. For maximum vitamins, minerals and interest, it is important to eat fresh fruits and vegetables in a variety of colors. For fun, we are also wearing the colors of the day, which are the following: Monday: Red/Pink, Tuesday: Green/White, Wednesday: Orange/Yellow, Thursday: Blue/Purple, and Friday: Rainbow. The classroom/s with the most participation will have an extra recess! Rainbow Week FLYER
FREE BATH AREA BACKPACK PROGRAM
The Bath Area Backpack Program is a local organization that provides snacks at school and supplemental meals for home throughout RSU1. Their aim is to make your life a little easier. PES would like to invite your child to be a part of this program. Feel free to try out the Backpack Program, and opt out if it doesn’t suit your family’s needs. Please contact Terry McCartney by email at tmccartney@rsu1.org or 389-1514 to sign up.
