Tickets/Seating
Each graduate will get 8 wrist bands for bleacher seating
Tickets are required for any guest 5 years and older
The bottom 2 rows on the bleachers will be reserved for those with limited mobility.
Tickets will be distributed to the graduates during Graduation Practice on May 10, 2024
Guests who don’t have wristbands for the bleachers are welcome to bring their own seating and sit in the green space.
Parking
Parking is free and on a first come, first served basis. As the main SHS parking fills up, parking will shift down to the middle school and elementary parking lots.
There will be a limited amount of handicapped parking available near the stadium. You must have a handicapped placard or plate to park in this lot.
There will be a lane for cars to drop guests at the entrance to the stadium and then go park. Please use this option if your party has limited mobility.
Ceremony
Graduates need to report to the PAC inside the high school by 6pm the day of graduation.
Grads will enter through the PAC doors.
The dress code for graduates is relaxed since we will be outside, but flip-flops will not be permitted. In addition, boots should be clean, and ladies should consider not wearing stiletto heels as you will be doing a lot of walking, and must go up and down stairs. A wedge heel is a good alternative.
Graduates should try to carpool or be dropped off if possible. If driving, they need to park in the Middle School parking lot.
Graduates should leave all valuables in their vehicle or at home.
Gates will open for guests at 6:30pm. Please do not enter the stands before then. Any blankets or other items placed in the bleachers prior will be removed.
The concession stand WILL be open and serving drinks and candy only.
This event is outside. In the event of inclement weather, the District will notify Graduates of event postponement by 4:00pm on May 17, 2024. Please check the district website to confirm.
The make-up dates in case of inclement weather are Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 7:30pm or Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 2:30pm
- Please meet your graduate behind the bleachers after the ceremony.
- Diplomas will be available for pick up at the Block house after the ceremony.

Graduation Pictures From RPG
As a thank you for all the years RPG, provides student pictures to families for free. Grad images will be available online within a week.
You may download images from graduation at no charge. Simply go to: http://rpg.hhimagehost.com/SmithvilleGraduation2024
Click on your school event name. Then enter an email address, locate the image you wish to access, and click on the DOWNLOAD ICON. All images will be available until August 31, 2024.
You may also purchase prints on this website. All grad walk orders are to be placed via this website and will be shipped directly to the address you submit. Tax and shipping charges will apply. Orders are not available for pick up at our office

Valedictorian & Salutatorian
In the interest of encouraging and recognizing outstanding academic achievement, a valedictorian and salutatorian will be selected for each high school graduating class, and will present speeches at the graduation ceremony.
Selection of the Valedictorian(s) will be determined by the following:
The Valedictorian(s) is defined as the full-time senior(s) having the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) of the graduating class.
The highest Grade Point Average will be based on the class rank of the seniors at the end of the fourth quarter of the senior year.
The Grade Point Average will be calculated to the ten-thousandths place. (Example: 4.2792)
Grade Point Averages will be calculated as the cumulative average of all courses beginning in grade 9.
*Transfer Students: For the purpose of determining the selection of the Valedictorian: the transcript of classes of a student who was not enrolled in Smithville High School as of the third quarter of freshman year and each year thereafter will be weighted according to Smithville High School’s course offerings and weight policy for that graduating class to determine the GPA.
To be considered for Valedictorian(s) students must be enrolled as a full time seniors by the first Friday of the school year.

The Salutatorian(s) is defined as the full-time senior(s) having the second highest Grade Point Average (GPA) of the graduating class.

FAFSA Applications
Now is the time to submit your FAFSA. Even if you don't think you will take loans, this is your ticket to automatically qualify for certain scholarships. Scholarships are given on a first come, first served basis, so the earlier you submit your FAFSA, the better chance of getting scholarships.

To ensure that all bases are covered, you must use a Google Account to upload photos. It will only be accepted on those terms per Google.

Tickets go on sale 4/17/24. QR codes are posted in the school and dance permission forms for people attending from another school will be located in the office. Tickets can be purchased using Home Town Ticketing.
Senior Fees: May 1st-14th
Seniors can come in before/after school or during WT class to pay fees with Ms. Sapp, the bookkeeper. Fees can also be paid via RevTrack.
Senior Checkout: May 7th-9th
All fee balances including lunch account balances, charges for lost books, uniforms, laptop and accessories or other school property must be paid prior to graduation. Fees can be paid via RevTrack.

Senior Scholarship Night: May 13th
If you would like your student recognized for any scholarships they are receiving, you must submit this information using this FORM. Filling out this form implies you and/or your student will be in attendance at the Ceremony. Please do not submit the form if you cannot attend. If your student is receiving multiple scholarships, please submit a new form for each different scholarship.
If your student applied for a scholarship through the counseling center and won, they will be notified to be in attendance to receive the scholarship by a counselor before the date of the event.
If you DO NOT fill out this form to report your student's scholarships, your senior will NOT be included in the ceremony.
If you do not receive an email confirmation that this form was successfully submitted, you should re-submit it because it did not go through.
THE FORM MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 3PM ON FRIDAY, MAY 10TH.
