A note from principal cline
Dear Charger Family,
First, Sunday is September 11th. Exactly twenty-one years ago this Sunday on September 11, 2001, the United States of America was devastated by a horrific event. 2996 humans lost their lives within two hours and the world would change forever. 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists had hijacked four airplanes. Two planes hit each of the Twin Towers in New York City. A third plane crashed into the United States Pentagon. A fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania as passengers attempted to stop the terrorists who were headed for the White House or the Capital. While our students were not born yet, their lives would be different as a result of this day and our teachers and parents have vivid recollections of this tragedy. This was a time of uncertainty and unsettling in our world as we feared future incidents. Many brave men and women lost their lives responding to this event in attempts to save others. As a CMVHS Community, we hope that you will take a moment to remember 9/11; there are still thousands of families impacted by this tragedy.
Second, please mark your calendars: we will be hosting our CMVHS Parent Open House on Thursday, 9/15 at 6:00 pm via Zoom. We hope that all CMVHS parents will attend this exciting and informative event.
Third, our FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) night will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, 9/21 at 5:00 pm via Zoom. All senior parents are strongly encouraged to join this.
Last, all of our students will be trained via Zoom (link will be sent) on the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System (SSARS) next week on the following days and times:
9th and 10th grade-Monday, September 12th from 12:45-1:45
11th and 12th grade-Wednesday, September 14th from 12:45-1:45
We greatly appreciate the investment from all of you - parents and students in getting off to a great start to the 22-23 academic year. Our students’ success is a complete team effort; THANK YOU!
Have a wonderful weekend and Remember, It’s Always a Great Day to be a Charger!
