There is no school tomorrow, November 10th, as we pause to observe Veterans Day. We take this time to recognize those who have served and those who are currently serving in the armed forces.
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent/Teacher conferences will be held at school on the afternoon of November 20th. Parents can CLICK HERE to sign up for an appointment with their student's teachers. Please reach out to the office if you need assistance booking an appointment.
The PTA is very excited to hold our annual Incognito Turkey contest again this year! Students will receive their turkey coloring page during school and we encourage them to color or decorate their turkey in any way they want to disguise it so they're not eaten for Thanksgiving! There is a collection box by the office, and the due date for entries is Monday, November 20th. If your student works on this at home, please make sure their name and teacher are on their submission somewhere!
🎄🎄Save the Date: Our annual Winter Tree Lighting will be held on Tuesday, December 19th at 6:00PM near the basketball court. Please dress in your warmest gear and join us for cookies and cocoa, singing, student-made ornaments, and a visit from some special friends!
- The WCS Leadership Team will be hosting a dance for students in grades 6-8 on Friday, December 1st from 6:30 - 8:30pm. This dance will be for WCS students only.
- Basketball tryouts for both the girls and boys teams are set for Monday, 11/13. The girls will be going first from 3-4:30pm, followed by the boys from 4:30-6pm in the WCS Gym. Students who wish to participate need to have their Athletic Physical paperwork submitted before they try out. CLICK HERE to access this paperwork.
- While you're here for your conference next week, please check out the Lost & Found, located in our lobby. All unclaimed items will be donated over Thanksgiving break.
The Laureen Swanson Music for Youth Fund, reviews applications to support and enhance music education for youth under age 22 in Brunswick, RSU 1, MSAD 75, RSU 5. The Board reviews applications on the fourth Thursday of each month. Applications and more information can be found at https://www.laureenswansonmusicforyouthfoundation.org.
Join the Maine Maritime Museum on select Saturdays from 10:30 - 11:30am for STEM & Arts Family Workshops. These free events are led by a museum educator and are geared toward students ages 4-10 years old. CLICK HERE for more information.
The Maine Maritime Museum is offering Story Time on Tuesday, 11/7 and Tuesday, 12/12 from 11 - 11:30am. This program is recommended for kids aged 2-7. CLICK HERE for more information.
