Dear Sequoia Families,
We have had a great week of kindness with our dress up days, kindness wall and "Be the I in Kind" sign. Teachers have mentioned a real momentum in kind acts and an overall feeling of helpfulness on campus. We hope to see the kindness continue, even after this week!
All of Sonoma County has been hit hard this cold and flu season. We've noticed a large increase in absences at Sequoia due to illness. As a result, our district maintenance crew did a heavy cleaning of our school this week focused on classrooms and other common areas for students. While we want students to be at school as much as possible, we also want them here only when healthy. Many students feel symptoms like body aches, headache, cough and a sore throat almost 24 hours before a fever begins. We encourage you to keep kids home when they are experiencing many of these symptoms so they get well and so illness doesn't spread to others. We are encouraging students and staff to wash hands often and keep hands away from their face as much as possible. Thanks for your help in keeping our students healthy this cold and flu season!
Next week we will have our annual Read-A-Thon Kick Off Assembly! Be on the look out for information on our 2020 Sequoia Read-a-thon on Friday! Students will be able to set up their dashboard and get into the spirit of reading and fundraising for our school soon!
