A Note from Dr. Whipple

We enjoyed meeting many of you at the BBQ events this past week. It was great to hear about the fun activities students are involved in and the plans ahead for August. For those that were not able to make the event, we look forward to seeing you soon!

As we inch closer to September, the start of every new school year brings feelings of excitement, hope, and maybe even some anxiousness. For Ms. Greibus and I, these feelings are even greater this year as we have the honor of becoming the new administration for Ruben A. Cirillo HS. We cannot wait to be able to work with you and provide a high school experience that prepares our students for their futures in an engaging, challenging and fun manner. To help us prepare for the start of school we wanted to provide you an outline of important dates and documents to be aware of below:

August 14 - Student schedules accessible on Infinite Campus Portal

• If you have any questions about the schedule, you may contact the Counseling Office at (315) 986-3521, x3172. Mrs. Kelleher is the counselor for students with last names A-K and Ms. Bertram for last names L-Z. Please note any course change requests must be made PRIOR to the first day of school.

August 21 - First day of fall sports (JV/Varsity football begins 8/19)

• Register for sports here!

August 24, 9:00-11:30am - Freshmen Orientation at HS Auditorium

• Open to all freshmen students and their families. We hope you attend this important event to help get acclimated to high school. Information will include high school offerings, expectations, graduation requirements and building tours. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP for your freshman by August 15th on ParentSquare!

August 30, 6:00-8:00pm - District Wide Open House

• All school buildings will be open to tour. Students will be able to find their classrooms, meet their teachers, pick up their school supplies and laptop. More details will be released as we get closer. Students that do not attend Open House will get their school supplies and laptops on the first day of school.

September 5 - First Day of School!

• School hours are from 7:30am - 2:24pm. Front doors open at 7:15am and there is an after school period from 2:27pm-2:55pm.

Please be sure to take the time to review the Student Handbook and Code of Conduct prior to the start of school. These documents have important information regarding academic requirements, offerings, behavior expectations and other procedures.

During the school year we will send out a weekly update on Fridays recapping the week. There is also a monthly newsletter that you will receive that provides important information for upcoming things. Hope you all have a great August.
