Greetings, Eames Way Families!

We were all excited to see the first snowfall of the season on Wednesday -- It was JUST enough snow to surround EWS in a winter wonderland!

Ironically, the theme for this year's Scholastic Book Fair was also "Winter Wonderland" -- how perfect! Our voracious readers couldn't have been happier to attend the book fair and expand their personal libraries. Thank you so much to Mrs. Clancy and our many helpers who made the book fair such a success!

Our First Trimester report cards were shared with families today and our students and staff enjoyed another Festive Friday! Read on to catch a glimpse of other happenings this week at Eames Way. As always, we hope you have a wonderful weekend!

PickUp Patrol is an app used by our families to notify EWS about attendance, including when your student will be absent, arriving late or leaving early, as well as dismissal plan changes. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us improve our new system!

• Practice hand hygiene frequently with soap and water or hand sanitizer.

• Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue. If a tissue is not available, cover them with an elbow, not a hand.

• Clean high-touch surfaces in your home frequently with household disinfectants.

• Keep your child home from school if they have a fever, especially in combination with a cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, congestion, runny nose, or sore throat. They should remain home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications.

• Avoid social gatherings if you or your children are ill.

• Proper handwashing, nutrition, adequate hydration, and regular sleep are the best ways to prevent illness.These strategies also shorten the duration of an illness.

• Please pack a healthy snack EVERY DAY. Great snacks include easy-to-eat fruits and veggies like apples, oranges, carrots, and cucumbers as well as whole grain snacks including granola bars, and crackers. Cheese sticks and yogurts are another great option. These ideas help keep hungry bellies at bay and students ready to learn!

• Have your child bring a water bottle to school EVERY DAY. The students have access to the bottle fillers and can refill their water bottles as needed throughout the day.

• We want to be able to send students outside for as long as possible despite the chilly temps. Please be sure students dress in layers for school- they need warm weather gear for outdoor play even when the inside temperature is warm. If students do not have appropriate warm weather/snow gear their outside activities may be somewhat limited so they stay warm and safe.

Every three years our parent/guardian CORI forms need to be updated in order to volunteer at school events. This year marks the beginning of a three year term, so every parent/guardian that would like to volunteer needs to complete a new form this year.

Please click here for the form and submit by bringing this to the front office with your license. You do have the option to have the form notarized and sent in with a copy of your license if you cannot come to the school.
