Town Center Tidbits

We have two staff updates I wanted to share with you all. Catherine Kim and Alexis Pope are both beginning a new journey next year. Catherine will join Lewisville ISD in the fall as a 3rd-grade teacher, and Alexis will move into a student-teacher role with our very own Lora Williams. I know you will join me in wishing them the best!

Congratulations to Trevor who was awarded a GEM at the CISD Board Meeting this past Monday. Below is his nomination:

Town Center Elementary Physical Education Teacher Trevor Schneeberger is known as “Coach T,” by his students. According to nominator Marly Natherson, who teaches fifth grade at Town Center, when it comes to connecting with kids and building authentic relationships, Coach T is the best.
She wrote, “Coach T goes out of his way to coach student behavior in the same way he gives feedback on pitching or push-up form in his P.E. class. He is committed to learning and helping our students in their social, emotional, mental and physical health.”

An example of this is how Coach T spends his planning time playing basketball with three students as part of their behavior plan. These students are committed to being their best selves, so they can have quality time with Coach T.

Natherson wrote in her nomination, “Coach T is a GEM because his positive impact extends well past the walls of his gym.”

Please make sure to refer to Dr. Applegate's latest email for two required professional development items. The trauma-informed training is required by anyone that has not completed the TCU TBRI training. If you do not have your certificate, please see me, and we can work that out. It is due by April 30th.

The district will be moving away from using Eduphoria next year and will switch over to Powerschool. CISD has been assured by Powerschool that they will be able to pull over all of your PD documentation dating back up to 10 years, so that should not be an issue. If you ever are wanting to have a backup copy just in case, however, you can follow the steps below:

• Click on “My Professional Learning”
• Click on the “Portfolio” tab
• Click on “My Portfolio”
• Click on “Portfolio Summary”
• Print

Dr. Hunt has graciously agreed to be dunked by the principals of the schools with the top three registrants for CISD Run to Fund. So far, these would be our throwers. Register by May 1st and help us move Town Center into 3rd place.

1. Mockingbird: 11.34% (3 Chances)

2. Pinkerton: 10.12% (2 Chances)

3. NewTech: 3.76% (1 Chance)

**Town Center: 3.11% (Almost there!)

The winners are based on the number of registrants vs. enrollment by May 1. There is plenty of time to get into the Top 3! The winners will have their chance at the Finish Line at CHS on May 8th.
