Hyatt's Updates for December

Dear Hyatt Elementary Families,

The holiday season is rapidly approaching and we are thrilled to be a part of such a caring and giving school community. Thank you to everyone who encouraged, shared their time, and supported our Stuff that Bus campaign. Together we were able to collect 3,554 non-perishable items in just five days! Your generosity is a true reflection and example of how our Linden Eagles soar to assist those who are in need. Thank you again for being so kind!

As everyone’s schedules seem to get busier, we wanted to keep you updated over the coming weeks to the numerous events taking place. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Every Child Every Day!

Tickets are still available for the 2022 Follies being held at the high school on Thursday, December 1st beginning at 6:30 p.m.. All of the monies raised will benefit The Angel Tree and Christmas Express. Please contact the office if you are interested in purchasing tickets. This is going to be a wonderful time!

The Holiday Happening being held on December 2nd is the largest one day event in Linden. Over 4500 people come to Linden to take part in our Parade, Fireworks and Family activities. The event is advertised to begin at 7:00 PM.

P.A.L.S. is sponsoring this year’s Santa’s Workshop, which is returning to Hyatt the week of December 5th. As in previous years, each classroom will be assigned a day to shop. Please write down who you want your child to shop for and if there is a specific amount you want spent. This will help the volunteer who will help each child with the shopping process. Gifts range in prices from .50 to $12.

December 9th is the last day to donate toothbrushes and toothpaste for the Christmas Exchange/Angel Tree.

Your child has been working hard on a unique piece in the art room. Their project is now available to order on a variety of products, just in time for Christmas gifts! Please keep an eye out for your child's personal catalog with all the instructions you need to order the products. This fundraiser will help us buy new supplies for the art room, including clay.

Popcorn is for sale twice a month on Fridays and costs just a quarter a bag. Our wonderful parent volunteers make some of the best popcorn in Genesee County and the proceeds are donated back to a different classroom each week to help support classroom needs. Thank you everyone for your support and enjoy that delicious popcorn!

We are continuing to SOAR at Hyatt as part of our district mission to support a positive culture in our schools! Our goal is to teach desirable behaviors that will serve our children well everywhere in our community and beyond! Throughout their day we focus on Staying Safe, Offering Kindness, Acting Responsibly, and showing Respect. The children are recognized individually with SOAR tickets and weekly through grade level drawings with donated prizes from our supportive P.A.L.S group, McDonalds, and Mancinos. This is a community commitment and something we are proud to support.

If you are interested in volunteering at the school, please contact your child’s teacher. We often are looking for an extra set of hands both in and out of the classroom. All volunteers are required to complete a background check before they can be approved to volunteer in the school. Please let us know if you are interested! Thank you!
