SPEED Newsletter

This summer, a group of families came together to find ways to support and learn from each other. Our first meeting, held in Ocotober, allowed famlies to share topics and ideas that were of interest for this school year. Out of the meeting, came the acronym SPEED, special education, engagement and development. Below are a list of the events we will be hosting for 2024. We hope to see you at our support meetings.

May 8, 2024: Transition

Our first LivCo Special Needs Fair was amazing. If you were not able to attend and would like to learn more about the various resources available in our region (and surrounding regions). Please see the directory below.

The Mid-West School-Age FACE Centers provide technical assistance and professional development to a variety of stakeholders. These stakeholders include families of students age 5-21, community members, and staff of public school districts, approved private day and residential schools, Special Act schools, State-supported, and State-operated schools.

Description:

This foundational level training is intended to develop participants’ basic understanding of SDI in order to increase knowledge of parents and other family members as engaged meaningful partners in the special education process and the education of their child.
