Principal's Message
Happy Friday Cougar Families!
Congratulations to all of our Cougars for completing the first full week of the spring term! It was great to see so many parents join us yesterday evening for Curriculum night. We hope you had a welcoming experience meeting the teachers and getting to know about all of the fascinating learning opportunities our students are about to engage in.
I want to remind everyone that we have Monday off as we observe the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. MLK Day is a national day of service and is often described as a “day on, not a day off.” Please find some time to be of service this weekend in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King.
Have a fun and safe three day weekend!
Upcoming Events:
- Monday, January 16th: MLK Day, no school
- Tuesday, January 17th: Start Smart @ 6pm in the library
- Wednesday, January 18th: School Site Council @ 3:45pm, Governing Board @ 5pm
- Thursday, January 19th: Blood Drive from 8:30-2:00.
- Thursday, January 26th: Mr. Steele @ 6:30pm
SCHS Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
Thank you to all the families who stopped by our SCHS PTO table during Curriculum Night! It was great to meet you and share info about what we do. If you did not have a chance to stop by and join PTO, you can do so by visiting our website. Keep in mind that all membership dues are invested right back into our Cougar students, staff and community!
While 2023 has only just begun, it's never too early to begin thinking about the future and who might make up our 2023-24 PTO Board! Several parents with graduating seniors will be moving on in June, so we want to ensure a smooth transition for the coming year. The following positions are available: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Parliamentarian, Membership Chair, Volunteer Chair, Fundraising Chair, Hospitality Chair, Social Media Chair, and Grade Level representatives. If you would like to learn more about the time commitment and responsibilities of any of these positions, please send an email to pto@schscougars.org for more information or to set up a time to discuss. Another way to learn more about the positions is to join us at our monthly PTO meetings. Our next meeting is on February 10th at 5 p.m. in the Staff Lounge. PTO runs solely on volunteers, and we need you!
