Cricket Team
Well done to our cricket team who played in the area tournament at Church Fenton yesterday. They played incredibly well and were narrowly beaten in the final. We are very proud of all of them.

Book Swap Event - Friday 1st July
On Friday 1st July during school hours we will be holding our book swap event as well as
some fun activities around reading and sharing book recommendations with each other.
There will be a storytime session and the Year 5 children have created a fun book quiz scramble that will be held on the school field. To top the event off, it will conclude with a Book Swap BBQ lunch. Some refreshments will also be provided to all the children during the morning.
It would be great if children could come in a themed outfit. The theme for the event will be ‘Just One Word’. For example if you chose the word ‘spotty’ you could come dressed in spotty clothes or the word ‘colourful’ and come dressed in different colours. Try to use your imagination and dress up as the most interesting word you can think of and we can all have fun guessing your word!
We would also ask that children could bring in a voluntary donation of £1 which will go towards buying a permanent book swap station that will be placed in the playground for children to bring and swap a book whenever they choose.
FOSS Summer Fair
Don’t forget that FOSS are still requiring donations for the raffle/ tombola at the summer fair. If you are able to support by asking local attractions or businesses for donations we would be very grateful.

School Calendar - keep up to date!
Please remember to keep checking the calendar regularly, as there will be a lot happening in school. We are planning to hold a production for parents, done by KS2 children, there will be a transition day for new classes, an end of year service in church, and other events happening. Dates will be circulated in the news, but the calendar is always the best source of advance notice. This is available on the bottom of each Friday newsletter and on our website.
School Lunches
Please see the Summer 2022 Lunch menu below. Next week we will be on Week 3 of lunches.
Next Friday, 1st July is the BBQ Book Swap Lunch. Our cook will be serving Burger in a bun with garlic potato wedges, Salad and coleslaw and Chocolate orange mousse.
We will therefore serve Sausage in a Bun on Monday instead of the burgers.
Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.
Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.
Each day there are 4 choices, either the hot dinner, hot vegetarian option, jacket potato with a choice of toppings or a sandwich. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.
Packed Lunches - if you are sending grapes in your child's packed lunch, can you please ensure that these are cut in half.
Parent Volunteers
We are delighted to be able to have volunteers into schools again, and would welcome parents to help us. If you are able to give any time to us, either on an ad-hoc or regular basis, you will need to complete a DBS application. Please contact the office for more information.
