Room Clearing Strategy

As many of you know, this is a reality of ours in West View and in Johnston County. It was nice to see an interview done from the teacher's perspective and from the family's perspective.

There is so much that I could say about the video, but the one thing I'm thankful for is the awareness that will happen after people view the clip. We need assistance and guidance to help develop strategies, outlets, and awareness for our students. Has this ever happened in your class? Did you know what to do? How can we as administrators help you when this is the only alternative?

What an awesome time at Cleveland Proud Day! We got to see lots of families and staff members at this event. Thank you for supporting Cleveland area schools!

WVE Kindness Against Bullying Month!

October 7th-11th:

Activities you can incorporate into your day with your class to promote kindness and prevent bullying (these are optional)

Monday: Ask your students to sit next to someone new at lunch.

Tuesday: Have your students wear the color blue to represent Bully Prevention! (the national day is Monday -- BUT picture day)

Wednesday: Ask students in your class to play with someone new at recess

Thursday: Create your own Kindness or Bully Prevention Slogan as a class

Friday: Pick one of the following news stories and share with your class and have a discussion about it.
