Southern Corroboree Frog

Description
The Southern Corroboree Frog has yellow and black stripes on its back, and yellow and white blotches underneath. It reaches a length of 2.5 - 3cm.
Distribution
The Southern Corroboree Frog lives in the snowy mountains at it lives entirely within Kosciuszko National Park.
Habitat & Ecology
It breeds in bogs, feeds on small black ants and breeds during January and February.
Threats
There is lots of damage to its breeding sites by feral pigs & horses, A fungus disease (chytrid) & climate change are also big threats.
Recovery Strategies
We need to protect breeding sites from animals that may trample them. We also need to breed the frogs off site to provide stock for reintroduction.
