Seguin Art League Show: MORE INFORMATION

Despite some annual community events being cancelled due to Covid, we were able to present this montage on MLK Day featuring elementary students paying homage to the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Please enjoy this special presentation!

In January, both Jim Barnes MS and AJ Briesemeister MS competed in UIL Junior High OAP Contest. They brought home several awards!

The Matador Winter Guard is now entering their competitive season. You may ask...what exactly is winter guard? It is the color guard from the marching band, but enhanced with a specialized show just for the guard! They compete inside in a gym and utilize dance choreography, flags, twirling weapons, themed costumes, and sometimes other props.

This year the Varsity Winter Guard is performing a show titled "Jump" while the JV Winter Guard is performing a show titled "Overthrone." In addition to traveling to contests, Seguin HS will be the host site for two TECA Winter Guard contests this year. These local events will occur on March 5th and then the TECA Championships on March 26th. TECA Contest schedules can be found online. The Matador Color Guard is directed by Ms. Heather Brown.

The Star Steppers are preparing for the upcoming contest season! We welcome new SHS Dance Director, Ms. Kiara Valenzuela, who is busy leading students through competition routines, refining choreography, and helping the students to reach their goals. Seguin HS will be the host site for the Crowd Pleasers Hill Country MS/HS Showcase on February 19th. This will include numerous dance team performances as well as solo & ensemble performances.
