Principal's Message
Dear Families and Caregivers,
Thank you PTA for putting on the Color Dash and thank you families for joining in the fun! We have had a great start to the school year and the Color Dash was a joyful way to come together and celebrate as a community.
As we move into October, our classroom communities have formed and our routines are established. By this point in the year, we are diving into curriculum and new learning every day. Your student’s attendance is really important. We want your students with us every day so they stay in the learning and develop strong learning behaviors.
We appreciate your desire to keep our community safe when your student is sick and we know that you sometimes have questions about whether to send your student to school or not. Please see the Oregon Department of Education guidance on this Too Sick for School document. Feel free to call if you have questions about whether your student should attend school on a day that he or she isn’t feeling well
Sincerely,
Kelly

Health Curriculum
In June 2023, the Canby School District board approved the adoption of a new health curriculum. You will be getting a letter from your child's teacher about the Great Body Shop. Click here to learn more about Health instruction.
Here are visual instructions for families who would like to access the digital curriculum in the Great Body Shop.
Volunteers
Looking to volunteer in your student’s classroom or for upcoming field trips and events? If you haven't done so already, a volunteer application must be submitted through the Canby School District.
Here’s what you need to know:
- All volunteer time must be pre-arranged with the teacher and/or specialist that you are assisting; including field trips.
- All new volunteers must be registered and pass a background check in order to volunteer for any classroom, field trip, or activity on-site.
- All volunteers must sign in and out upon entry and exit of the school building.
We look forward to having you join us!
A Message from Nutrition Services
Your children may qualify for free or for reduced-price meals! If you plan to have your child eat school-provided breakfast or lunch, please fill out a Meal Application online.
- If you have qualified in the past, you need to re-qualify as soon as possible. There is not a 'grace' period this year.
For additional information click here and to fill out an application click here. Oregon is working hard to assist families by expanding the income guidelines to determine eligibility. Many families who don't think they will qualify, do! Check it out!
