Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

TARGET Ambassadors
Students spoke at the 2nd Annual Conference as TARGET ambassadors about reducing grooming, exploitation and trading of Children and Young people online
UK Mathematical Challenge
The students pictured have been awarded certificates for taking part in the UK Junior Mathematical Challenge. Well done to you all you were amazing ambassadors for the school.
Mad4Life
Year 9 students took part in a "Futures Workshop" with Mad4Life and worked on mindset and challenges they may face in the future.

- Miss Connellan has nominated the following Year 9 English students, Alicia for her wonderful effort and excellent understanding of complex concepts and ideas, Zak, Carmen and Gabby for fantastic poetry anthologies and Gabby for her excellent effort with the new module this term.
- The Maths Department would like to congratulate the students who have been awarded certificates for taking part in the UK Junior Mathematical Challenge, pictured above.
- Mr Godfrey has nominated Year 8 students Jasmine, Lukasz and Sammah for their great contribution to the communication assembly.
- Miss Grieves has nominated Year 7 students Patrick and Thomas for their excellent effort in Pixl Edge tasks during form time and Chae-Thai for passing her dance exam with highly recommended.
- Mr Harley would like to say well done to all the students who took part in round 1 of our Bake Off competition 2019.
- Mrs Hopkins has nominated Year 10 student Patrick for for excellent contribution in his history lessons.
- Mr Horne has nominated Year 8 student Abigail for her excellent approach to Pythagoras study in Maths.
- Mr Hirst has nominated his Year 10 Product Design class who have started with their NEA this week and have impressed staff with their efforts.
Celebration of Student Work
Guest Speaker - Year 10
Year 10 students took part in a workshop looking at studying Drama in higher education, it was very informative for the students.
Year 9 Leicester University Trip
Year 9 students visited Leicester University where they were given a tour of the campus and took part in various challenges including a University quiz.
Bake Off 2019
Our students have taken part in Week 1 of the bake off competition this week and they made a wonderful vegan shortbread, pictured is Star Baker of the Week, Olivia.
Attendance Matters
Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.
Whole School Attendance
Whole school attendance this week is 96.2%, slightly below our target.
Best Tutor Group
Best tutor groups are 9CA and 7TE both with 99.2%, well done to Mrs Brighwell, Mr Lee and your tutees.
House Winner
House winners are C house with 97.3%, well done to Cayley and Coleman.
Reminders:
- Can we remind all Year 11 parents that our Prom is being held on Thursday 27th June at the Holiday Inn, a final letter outlining the details will be sent shortly.
