Principals Corner

Wow! We have completed the month of January! It is hard to believe that it has flown right by. I believe that we all were very concerned coming back to school from the holiday that we would see a large number of staff and students isolated due to exposure or contracting the virus. We have been so blessed to have had very few issues in the month of January and we hope a pray that will continue and we can keep everyone healthy.


I want to thank you all for your patience this entire school year! You have been the best group of parents and guardians to work with and I appreciate you so much! I also appreciate our teachers and staff who have been true professionals the entire way.


My hope as we move forward with the rest of the school year is that we will be able to have our yearly PTO Winterfest, 8th grade night, and Spring Sting at the end of the school year.


Please encourage your children to continue to follow the guidelines and keep hands clean and coughs covered. And help us continue to keep our building clean and sanitized.

Meet The HRS Staff

Ms. Michele Hall- Secretary

Ms. Michele is in her tenth year at HRS. The past five years she has served as the school secretary. Ms. Michele is a great communicator with teachers and parents and wears many hats at HRS. We are so blessed to have her at HRS and we appreciate the many things she does for the school.

Mrs. Vicki Clark- School Nurse

Mrs. Vicki is in her tenth year as the school nurse at HRS. She has done an amazing job especially this year with having to check student symptoms and do contact tracing. We appreciate Nurse Vicki so much!

Mrs. Connie Hansard- School Custodian

Mrs. Connie is in her first year at HRS. She has worked in the Lincoln County School System for nine years with eight of those years at LCHS. Thank you Mrs. Connie for all you do!

February 1-4 Boys Section Basketball Tournament at LCHS


February 5- Superlative and Club Pictures


February 11- Parent-Teachers Conferences- 4-7pm. By appointment only. Please email childrens teachers if you need to set up a meeting.


February 12- No School


February 15- Presidents Day- No School


February 26- Class Pictures/ Spring Pictures


February 26- Book Fair Begins- Goes through March 5.


The first week of March will be Dr. Seuss Week.

The HRS Hornets won the 2021 Area Championship by defeating Unity on Monday, Fayetteville on Tuesday, and Eagleville on Thursday. The team advances to the Section Tournament and play Saturday at 6pm at LCHS. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Maddox Franklin, Colton Tate, and Rhett Persell for being named to the All-Area Regular Season Team.

Congratulations to Rhett Persell for being named the MVP of the Area Tournament. Also selected to the team from Highland Rim was Maddox Franklin and Mick Smith.
