A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
It has been quite a busy summer at Thompson School. The circle drive was repaved, bottle filling stations were added throughout the building, and the sprinkler system was updated. Cleaning crews are readying classrooms for our students' return, and staff members are enjoying the last weeks of summer break.
When students return to school, they will see a few new faces and some staff members in new roles. Below are the staff we hired over the summer, or who are transferring into Thompson from within the district, or who are transferring into a new role within our School:

SCHOOL SAFETY DRILLS
The School Safety Drill Act requires that within the first 90 days of every academic year, we conduct at least one law enforcement lockdown drill. This drill addresses a school shooting incident and evaluates the preparedness of school personnel and students for situations involving law enforcement when there is an active threat or an active shooter within a school building. Please be assured that the lockdown drill:
Does not include any simulations that mimic an actual school shooting incident or active shooter event,
Is announced in advance to all school personnel and students before it begins,
Includes content that is age and developmentally appropriate,
Includes and involves school personnel, including school-based mental health professionals,
Includes trauma-informed approaches to address the concerns and well-being of school personnel, and
Permits students to ask questions related to it.
This year’s lockdown drill will take place on Wednesday, August 30th. If you do not want your child to participate in the lockdown drill, please complete the following Opt-out Request Form by Friday, August 25th.

School Lunch
Reminder that the District no longer provides free lunch for all students. Paid Lunch is $3.05. To apply for Free/Reduced Lunch visit our website under Food Service. Click here for information on how to create an account for lunch purchases.
Registration and Fees
School Registration Fees are now due. The fees will increase after August 31. Payments can be made electronically on the District's website, via regular mail, or in- person at the school building.
