We can't believe September is here! It has been a GOLDEN start to the year. Our Back to School Bash sponsored by PTO may have been hot but it was a blast. Griffis had a great turn out to our Grade Level Meetings. We are getting ready for our Boosterthon fundraiser. Be looking for details! Our first Lunch on the Lawn was a little chaotic with with unexpected early release. We are excited for our September Lunch on the Lawn, new picnic tables and hopefully cooler weather:)

It was hot out there but what a great turnout!

Our next Lunch on the Lawn is Friday, September 15th. If you plan on attending, a RSVP link will be sent at a later time. We anticipate a large crowd, so arrive early in order to park and make your way to the side soccer field. You may park in the front or back of Griffis. It's going to be a great day!

Lunch on the Lawn dates will not be rescheduled if they are canceled due to weather.

We are excited to start monthly student recognitions with our Golden Griffis Celebrations! Students that are receiving an award for that month will be invited by their child's teacher. These will be quick celebrations right after announcements. We are excited to start this at Griffis this year.

We are excited to continue this program with Griffis Elementary PTO this coming this year!

The Watch D.O.G.S. Program brings male role models such as dads, stepdads, grandpas, uncles, etc. into the school for the betterment of the school, the students, and the community!!

Are you interested or know someone who may be?

We ask for a commitment of a partial or full school day just ONCE per year! Of course, you can volunteer more often!

The Caddo Mills Independent School District offers a choice of healthy meals each school day. Children may buy breakfast and lunch at each school campus. Children who qualify under U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines may get meals free or at a reduced price of 40 cents for lunch and 30 cents for breakfast. If a child has a disability, as determined by a doctor, and the disability prevents the child from eating the regular school meal, the school will make substitutions prescribed by the doctor. If a substitution is needed, there will be no extra charge for the meal. The school is not required to make a substitution for a food allergy unless it meets the definition of disability. Students not in the building by the 8:00 A.M. bell are considered tardy. Please refer to our campus handbook regarding our tardy policy. If your child is tardy, please do not drop your child off. For their safety, your child should be signed in. Please come to the front to sign them in.

Caddo Mills ISD is excited to partner with AlphaBest to offer an after-school program for students in grades Pre K-4. The program will be housed at both elementary campuses. Check out the attached flyers for additional information, or click the link below.

Each month, we will focus on a particular character trait. Mrs. Wygal will give daily announcements regarding that trait to help the students put it into action. Each month, teachers will be looking for positive referrals from their class that they feel has best demonstrated the monthly trait. The trait for the month of September is Friendship.
