Thank you to our amazing Comedy & Cuisine chairs for planning, organizing, and putting on an amazing experience last Saturday night: Mac McLaughlin & Heather Gomes (parents of Julia, Dominic, and Blaise), Chris & Danielle Lyons (parents of Charlie, Sam, and Claire), and Shannon & Tony Vaccaro (parents of Vinny and Mikey).

This event involves months of planning and coordination. There are not enough words to express how thankful our school community is for these amazing chairs.

Thank you to Elizabeth Schroeder (mom of Lucy and Henry Kittell) and her Pretty Productions Team, Sarah & Philip. They put in months of time, planning, ordering, and decorating to transform our space into a beautiful banquet hall.

Thank you to next year's Comedy & Cuisine chairs for all of the work they did to support this year's event: Josh & Molly Humpal (parents of Clara, Hattie, Cooper, Etta, and Peter), John & Maria Anderson (parents of Amelia & Anastasia), and Peter & Susan Walsh (parents of Wes & Hank). We are already looking forward to seeing what this team puts together next year!

Thank you to Magan Smith (emcee), Mike Schill (live auctioneer and Oscar), and Erin Grace (emcee) for their work on the script and running the event that night on the stage. Always a crowd pleaser, these folks put in lots of time and talent to get our community to bid high and bid often!

Thank you to Ben Drickey for working on the script with Erin and putting together a professional video for the event. As with all of the folks mentioned above, Ben donates hours and hours of his time to work with our chairs to showcase our amazing honorees and volunteer/alumni of the year.

Thank you to Sammie Rodriquez for continuing to share her photography talent with all of us. She provided onsite professional photography for the live event, captured class photos for purchase, and live Operetta shots.

We are currently hiring for the following positions:

• Middle School (Grades 6-8) CTE Teacher (CTE stands for Career & Technical Education)
• PK-8 PE Teacher
• 5th Grade Teacher
• Cafeteria Manager

Our new Career & Technical Education course is designed to help middle school students explore career options using project based curriculum from the Nebraska Career Education Model, and to understand the Nebraska Career Readiness Standards. The course is organized by three themes - Making it My Choice, A World of Options and Charting a Direction - with culminating individual and group projects. Students will define career clusters, pathways, programs of study and demonstrate examples of career readiness. Activities will introduce Nebraska Career Connections, an on-line career information system to enhance the career development process. Students will utilize self-assessments to then explore occupations aligned to their identified interests and skills, establish a career e-portfolio and create a personal learning plan for a guide toward high school and postsecondary opportunities.
