Parent and Student Volunteers Needed
Oakland-Craig Public Schools will be holding a reunification drill on December 21 at 2:45 p.m. We are NOT doing this with all students. Instead, we are asking for volunteers. Reunification is done following an emergency event in an attempt to make sure students get home with the appropriate individual with counseling available for anyone that has lost a child in the emergency event. Please note this is just a drill so counseling will not be necessary. We will only be conducting this drill with a small percentage of our students and parents so that we can determine areas in need of improvement. Please complete the form linked below to share your interest in participating in this drill. Please note that your role would be to come to school and pick up your child. We anticipate this taking approximately 1 hour as the process is quite extensive. In addition, we will ask you to complete a short survey following the drill so that we can get input about your experience.
After School Program Update
As you know, this is the last year the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant will fund our after school program. As a result, we were hoping to apply for a continuation grant to keep our program going. Unfortunately, we aren't able to apply as they are using our free and reduced percentage from last fall rather than this current school year. The Board of Education values this program and has no intent to discontinue it. We are now looking for additional funding options for the 2024-2025 school year. Next winter, we will have another opportunity to apply for a 5 year 21st Century Community Learning Center continuation grant due to our increased free and reduced percentages. We will update you as we learn more but want to assure you that keeping the after school program is a high priority for our district.

Christmas Wish Lists
Are you wondering what to get your child's teacher for Christmas? We know it can be a challenge to figure out the perfect gift so we thought we would help. Here is a link to a "wish list" for each teacher at OC. Please do not feel like you have to get them something. We just wanted to provide a quick avenue for those that are contemplating what a teacher would want.

Free Meal Opportunity:
Our Jr./Sr. High is sitting at 34.08%. There is still time to reach 40% though. Please consider completing the free/reduced meal application with the hope that we can reach 40% for the Jr./Sr. High and have the opportunity to serve free meals to all students in our district.
