Principal's Message...

Dear Sierra Families,

It was wonderful to see such an amazing turnout at Back To School Night this week. Your support and partnership plays a huge role in having a successful year.

Our TEAM Sierra Membership Drive ends Friday, 9/2/22! The class that raises the most money will receive a special prize. The funds raised through TEAM Sierra directly support our school community and many of the extracurricular activities our students take part in, including field trips, events, and activities in the classroom and around campus. The first meeting is this Thursday, Sept.1st @ 3:30pm.

Please take time to read through this newsletter each week, as it contains important information for all families.

Library News

Hi Dragons!

We have had another exciting week in the library. We read a story called Goldie Socks and the Three Bears written by Jackie Hopkins. It’s a story that talks about choosing the right book. The reader uses their hand with all fingers down in a fist. For every difficult word ( unable to pronounce or read) a finger goes up. If 4 or 5 fingers go up, then the book may be too challenging to comprehend or finish. If they hold up 2 to 3 fingers it is just right. If only 0 to 1 finger, then it may be too easy. This a great way for students to choose books in their reading level. Have a great week and I can’t wait to share a new story next week! Remember, good things happen when you read!

No Dogs on Campus

Please help us by leaving your dog at home during drop off and pick ups. Dogs are not allowed on school campus, unless they are registered service dogs. Thank you for your cooperation.

Transportation Reminder

School is back in session. Just a friendly reminder for all. When the flashing red lights on top of the bus and stop sign is out please stop 25 feet away from the bus. This is for the safety of our drivers and our students.

Garden Club

Join us in the garden, Wednesday Aug. 31st from 3:00-3:45pm. We will be planting seeds. Bring water, snacks will be provided. Everyone who attends will be entered into a raffle!

Band Information Night

Mrs. Young is hosting a band information night, Wednesday Aug. 31st from 6:00-7:00pm in the MP room. This is for 5th grade students and families.

TEAM Sierra Membership Drive

Parent participation and engagement is what makes Sierra School such a special place to be! Last day to turn in forms is Friday, Sept. 2nd! The class that raises the most money, wins a PRIZE!

Family Resource Center

After school enrichment class registration starts Monday! Please make sure the registration form and cash/check are turned in at the same time for registration to be complete. First come, first served. Forms and details can be found on the Sierra website under "Parents".
