Principal Message
Welcome Back Students, Staff and Families! I am so excited to be back at school. Looking ahead, we have some exciting events planned for Wyandotte students. We are kicking off our first fundraiser, a Cookie Dough Fundraiser. This event is as easy as pie! Just share it out to family and friends through social media or word of mouth. All instructions and fundraising materials will be going home with students on September 21st. Students win prizes or cash but more importantly, every dollar raised from this event is going right back into our school, every single cent! We are committed 100 percent to realizing our goal of purchasing new playground equipment for Wyandotte. Please help us realize this dream for our students to have a modern playground to support their physical and social development.
Thank you parents for helping to re-define our afternoon pick-up process. It’s been smooth because of your patience while working through a new system. We appreciate you!
Lastly, parents, please join me for, "Coffee With the Principal", on Wednesday, September 28th. We will meet in the cafeteria at 8:30 am. This is an informal gathering to share thoughts and ideas about Wyandotte. Hope to see you there!

Welcome to our New Staff
Spanish Parent Liaison, Christy Reyes
I'm Christy Reyes the new bi-lingual parent liaison. You'll see me around campus running around making copies, or trying to catch parents for signatures. Aside from being our liaison I also help run the EL program district wide. I am located in rm 12. At home I am a wife and a mom of 2 that keep me on my toes. I can already tell Wyandotte is an awesome place to be.

September is Attendance Awareness Month
Perhaps it has never been more important to celebrate September as National School Attendance Awareness Month enthusiastically to encourage all members of the educational community about the coming school year. Taking action to engage students and families is essential for addressing the absenteeism, enrollment declines, and educational inequities that have been exacerbated by the pandemic. We can help our students and our families by building awareness about the connection between school and success, whether the educational program is in-person or through high-quality independent study.

Wellness Center
We are very fortunate to have a place at our school that helps students in a supportive way and the name of the place is the Wellness Center. The Wellness Center’s mission is to provide a safe place for students to take a break, process their feelings and get support for success in their class and around the school. While students are in the Wellness Center, they follow our three main expectations of being safe, respectable and responsible.
Once the Wellness Center finds out what support a student needs, the teacher gets the student started on the activity best suited for how they are feeling. For some it might be having a quiet talk with the Wellness Center teacher, for others it might be sitting quietly and listening to music playing in the room, for others it might be jumping on our small trampoline. There are many things that students can do to help them calm their mind, as well as regulate their thoughts and feelings.
The Wellness Center is very honored to be able to support students as they work hard to grow in their academic skills as well as their behavioral skills.
If you would like to visit the Wellness Center, please contact the office to set up an appointment.
