NFPS Update
September 30, 2022
Dear New Fairfield Community,
Drum roll, please! The spirit of New Fairfield has been on full display in recent weeks. Last Friday, we hosted our first home football game in front of a throng of our Rebels' faithful. I want to compliment our students, athletes and supporting cast for their school pride. All in attendance were treated to great performances on the field and on the sidelines. Adding to the festive environment were the contributions of our drum core and marching band. In addition, our Rebels' cheer squad brought their positive energy to the stadium with their routines. If you missed the game, don't worry, there's another one this evening at 7 PM under the lights. Hope to see you there.
Please see NFPS updates below and have a great weekend!

Math in Action
Number Corner and Bridges math learning are fully in action at our elementary schools. Teachers and students are excited and engaged during numeracy instruction. The students love the hands-on approach and are learning from one another with rich conversations that allow students to explain their thinking. A grade one teacher expressed, "We love seeing the boost in confidence as students take risks and share their thinking during lessons." We look forward to an exciting year ahead! Check out some math in action. Grade five students are shown below doing an investigation with volume and surface area. Grade three students explore adding strategies using length. Consolidated students are engaged in a math time called Work Places.
