January 2019
Happy 2019!
Hello! I hope everyone’s 2019 is off to a good start. The YMSL board, their committees and our philanthropy liaisons are BUSY planning moms’ and boys’ meetings, adding philanthropy opportunities to our calendar, working on our banquet, and preparing for our prospective member meetings in February. We’re hoping to end our YMSL year on a very positive note. Please take a look through our calendar to make note of all of our upcoming events.
I hope each of you will take a moment to think of how you’d like to serve our organization next year. We’re always looking for fresh ideas for meetings and events and for different organizations to work with. The only way this can happen is for different people to volunteer to serve on our board, as committee chairs, as philanthropy liaisons or as GLC’s for each grade. Please consider giving your time in this way. You won’t regret it!!
My next wish is that our chapter will continue to grow by adding fabulous boys and moms. If you know of someone who would be a great addition to our chapter, please reach out to them and talk up Integrity! Invite them to learn more about us at our prospective member meetings on February 24th and 25th.
Senior mamas, enjoy these final months before graduation. Soak up every minute that your son gifts you with his presence. I hope all of your “last times” at high school events are special ones and that you always have Kleenex at the ready for those moments in the grocery store or driving alone in the car or at church when thoughts of him not sleeping in your house every night hit (maybe this just happened to me??).
“The broadest, and maybe the most meaningful definition of volunteering: Doing more than you have to because you want to, in a cause you consider good.”

MEMBERSHIP
Information about our Prospective Membership Drive
We are now running our full campaign for prospective members.
If you know someone you think would be a good candidate for YMSL-Integrity Chapter and would like to sponsor them please let us know and I will email you the membership information you can give to them, as well as, invite them to our Prospective Membership Meeting on February 24th or 25th at 7:00 p.m. in the Wellington Athletic Center (WAC) 3520 Furlong Drive E, Flower Mound. Please plan on attending the meeting with them as you will be their mentor through the process.
To keep our chapter strong and to give back, look for prospective members in your circle of acquaintances: church, PTA, neighbors, son’s friend’s moms, school and extra-curricular organizations. Some of the busiest people make the best members.
To be eligible to sponsor a prospective member, you must be a member in good standing. Meaning, you must have met your financial and service hours (half) by February 1st.
All active members in good standing (have met 50% of hours requirements by February 1st) may sponsor two new members. Members with a legacy (a son currently in 8th grade that will be joining YMSL) may sponsor one new member. Provisional members (first year returning to YMSL) in good standing may sponsor one.
If you have any questions please feel free to call, text or email me.
Thank you,
Denise Hicks

PHILANTHROPY
So great and exciting to see the majority of events full with members serving. Please keep it up as all of our Philanthropies depend on each one of us to support and help them. Several new events have been added to the calendar the past few weeks. Please take some time to log into our chapter web and calendar to find what events work best with your schedule.
Thank you for all you do..

PARLIAMENTARIAN
All hours served and meetings attended must be logged in the website before February 1, 2019. The website will be locked to reporting hours or meetings occurring prior to February 1st on that date.
February 1st is also the deadline to have served at least 50% of your required hours for the 2018/2019 year. Please check your hours on the website by going to Hours/Philanthropy Hours Review. Members who have not served at least 50% by this deadline will not be in good standing and cannot vote or serve on the new board or sponsor new members until their required hours are served.
Awards will be given at banquet, many of which revolve around hours served. The awards will be calculated based on hours served and reported as of March 31, 2019.
Remember, there are only two meetings left! Moms are required to attend 3 meetings and boys 5 each year. Senior boys only have to attend 4 but they only have one meeting left for the year. If you know you will be unable to attend your required number of meetings, you can serve 2 philanthropy hours for each missed meeting. Report these as missed meeting makeup hours when you log your hours.
Questions, please contact Shelly Einspahr, Parliamentarian
