Thank you to Pam Brennan, Nicole Marselle, Kelli Kuypers and Stacie Nevins who chaired the decorations committee. What a tremendous undertaking! The school looked amazing! The kids were wowed that the gym and cafeteria were magically transformed in a few short hours. Our volunteers did a fabulous job creating, organizing and dedicating their time to decorating Oak Grove. We'd like to give a big round of applause to all the 8th grade teachers. It has been such a special year for the students because of the hard work, dedication and encouragement these teachers give. It was so nice that you took the time out of your busy schedules to help out at the 8th grade dance. The kids loved having you there and we so appreciate your support. We are also grateful for Kathy Azzato and Andrew Fenton for all their support. Oz and the custodial staff were wonderful and beyond helpful. Their efforts helped make the evening a big success. Thank you!!
I'm sure there are a few names that have been accidentally left off. If so, we apologize, and indeed appreciate your efforts. We hope all volunteers had fun with this last 8th grade event. It is a great group of students and families. We are looking forward to seeing you at graduation tonight. Best of luck to these amazing students!

Making Healthy Decisions
With graduation parties in abundance, it seems especially appropriate to take a moment to consider how we can help our teens make choices that keep them both safe and happy.
Please take a moment to take a look at this month's parent e-postcard and consider how you can support your teen's healthy decision making. If you have any questions, please reach out to Rachel Mintle, our Lake County Community Health Specialist at rmintle@lakecountyil.gov or by phone at 847-377-8775.
May we all have a safe and healthy season of celebration!
Curriculum Corner
Hello Oak Grove Community,
As the school year ends, please remember that learning does not. Last week I shared a few creative ways to sneak in learning activities while still having fun in the process. In addition to those great tips, it’s always a great idea to read to and with your children. During the middle of the day when it’s really hot outside would be a great time to rest in the air conditioning with a good book or to practice their math skills they’ve spent all year learning. Don’t forget about your summer reading list and feel free to spend some time at the library.
In other news:
You should be receiving or have received your Oak Grove Fitness Scores via email (check your junk folder), STAR scores via email and you will be receiving paper copies of the report card.
Walk-in Registration for all incoming kindergarteners and new families is Thursday, May 31st in the Rubber Gym from 9 am - 1 pm. Please come in the building through the District Office entrance, door #18.
Have a safe and enjoyable summer!
