We are excited for another horse show season here at AMIT! All show registration will be done on our website www.amitfarm.net! The show dates in the calendar will have a link to register for the shows. Entry lists and class lists will be posted in the barn isle!

Show Ring Attire and Etiquette

Showing is a great way to show case riders skills and show off all of their hard work and dedication. Showing can also raise some questions on apparel and etiquette.

Horse shows are about performance and appearance. if you have a good performance then the appearance may help you to the top. The reverse is true that poor appearance my may distract the judge from a good performance.

Riders need to ensure they have a proper fitting in good repair helmet. Hair should be neatly contained in two braids with bows (NOT DISTRACTING) for girls younger than 13 or a hair net for girls older than 13. A show shirt or a nice, collared shirt must be tucked into show riding pants with a belt, garter straps and paddock boots for riders under 13. For our over 13 riders tall boots are required no other footwear will be permitted. A show jacket and gloves complete the picture. Please note AMIT will excuse jackets for warm weather and riders in Foundations 1, Foundations 2 and Walk Trot are not expected to wear jackets.

Our Adult Division and our Jumper divisions riders are allowed to show off their individuality with fun riding shirts and saddle pads are encouraged!

Show ring etiquette is just as important if not more important than attire. Our riders are asked to come the day prior of the show to get their ponies ready to shine and get them presentable for the show ring! Day of the show we ask riders to come with their best attitudes a hour prior to their scheduled time to get ponies ready and get warmed up. Being a good sport and conducting yourself in an appropriate manner is expected here at AMIT. We have a secret judge at every show looking for those riders who are exemplifying good sportsmanship and horsemanship, these riders get special prizes!

Our instructors are well versed in showing and can answer any questions you may have about your rider showing.

AMIT has some show clothes if anyone needs anything, if you have outgrown anything please consider donating so we can continue to help our riders look their best!

Spring into Action!

As we approach spring, please remember the ponies are just as happy as we are, and they may be a little spicy! Instructors may go back to basics in lessons over the next few weeks to get ponies back in shape and help hinder any behavioral issues! Spring also brings shedding! Ponies will be shedding and itchy please help them out by currying and using shedding blades when grooming! Our fuzzy winter friends will start looking sleek and shiny again soon! Let's take a second to enjoy some fuzzy mammoth pics!
