Students should bring their costume to school in a bag labeled with their name.
Students should not come to school dressed in their costumes.
Students will dress in their costume later in the day. Please consider having them wear something that will allow them to change easily.
Please do not send your child to school in or with face paint or makeup.
Weapons, including toy ones, are not allowed. If a child brings one to school as part of their costume, they will be asked to put it into their backpack.
Costumes should not be gory, bloody, or of an inappropriate nature.
Thank you for helping us make this day a success!
HALLOWEEN PARADE & PARTIES
PARADE INFORMATION:
PARENT OBSERVATION LOCATION
If you plan on coming to see the parade, please remember that parents will be asked to stand in the grass on the inside of the fitness trail. (The fitness trail is located at the back of the school next to the playground) Students will parade around this area using the fitness trail.
PARKING
FRONT LOTS - Please feel free to park in any open parking space you can find.
FRONT CIRCLE - Parents who park in the front circle MUST move their vehicle after the parade. This space must be cleared immediately after the parade.
McCONNELL STREET - Please feel free to park in any open spot.
DROP OFF/PICK UP DRIVEWAY (rear of building) - If you park on the driveway, be sure to park as far over the right as you can so that when cars exit, there is enough room for a vehicle coming in the opposite direction to pass. After the parade we ask that all parents proceed to their vehicles so that we can move vehicles out of this area. To exit, follow the same procedures as we do during arrival and dismissal. Vehicles are not to remain in this area so if you plan on picking up your student, you will still need to move from the drive. Once the driveway is cleared you are welcome to return to the back drive area after 3:00 pm and wait for your student(s).
* In the event of inclement weather, we will move the parade into the gym. Parents will be allowed inside the gym during the parade and will not be permitted to enter classrooms or other areas of the building. (This does not apply to prearranged volunteers that have signed in for classroom parties)
PARTY INFORMATION:
Classroom parties will begin immediately after the parade.
Room parents/volunteers that are previously signed up to help in the classroom can come into the front vestibule at 1:45pm to sign in and collect their visitor badges. They may then drop off supplies to the classroom before heading to the parade.
Important note: If you are volunteering and have not signed into the office recently, please consider stopping in the office sometime during the week prior to the event. Scanning your identification prior to the event will expedite the process. If you are unsure if your information is on file, please call the office at 815-678-4717.
Thank you!

Read to Succeed
This year students are able to participate in the Chicago Wolves Read to Succeed reading program. Starting on November 1st and continuing through December 16th, students are to complete 5 hours of reading at home. When your child completes the 5 hours they should turn in the reading log to their classroom teacher. Reading logs must be turned in no later than December 19th, no exceptions. Your child will then receive a certificate to receive a complimentary ticket to a Chicago Wolves home game at Allstate Arena! Happy Reading! If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Lavelle via email at hadams@nsd2.com
