Graduation Guidelines

Hello Grizzlies,

With graduation right around the corner, we wanted to send out some guidelines for the event.

When can we reserve a spot to sit?

At 5:15pm the lawn at the bandshell at Lithia Park will be opened and this is when friends and families can come put down blankets and chairs to reserve a seat. No one will be permitted to reserve a spot before then.

Can we bring chairs or will chairs be provided?

Chairs will not be supplied for graduation, however you are allowed to bring chairs. Please be aware of those around you and if you feel like you might be blocking the view of another guest, please move accordingly. The best chairs to bring will fall under the Britt Festival Guidelines which can be found here https://www.brittfest.org/about-britt/faq/ under the header: "Can I bring lawn chairs to Britt concerts?"

Will there be food and refreshments?

There will not be water or food provided at graduation. We encourage families to bring a nice picnic and plenty of water to stay hydrated. It will be warm and there is limited shade.

When does the graduation processional start?

It will start at 6:30pm.

Graduation Cap Decoration

Attention Graduating Seniors! AHS will allow you to decorate your cap this year at graduation. Please follow the guidelines below to avoid having your cap confiscated prior to the ceremony.

Cap Decoration may include:

Written messages (Must be school appropriate: no profanity, hate speech, hate symbols, bullying remarks or other remarks that administration deems offensive or distracting will be allowed).
Drawings/Art (must be drawn on the fabric of the cap, nothing can be affixed to the cap. Must be school appropriate)
No Attached Objects Will Be Permitted
Caps that have been borrowed from the front office cannot be decorated.
Bring decorated cap to Graduation Practice for approval
Failure to follow the above guidelines will result in the cap being confiscated before the ceremony.

This applies only to the cap. Graduation gowns should not be decorated or drawn on in any way.
