MES Monthly Newsletter
February, 2024
Dear MES Families,
Welcome back to another exciting edition of our monthly newsletter! We hope this letter finds you well and enjoying the winter season. As we dive into the month of February, we want to share some highlights from January and give you a sneak peek into the upcoming events at Midland Elementary.
January brought us back from winter break, and we hit the ground running despite the winter weather. We experienced several days of e-learning, ensuring that our students continued to engage in meaningful educational activities from the safety and comfort of their homes. We appreciate your flexibility during these days.
One of the fantastic events that took place in January was the Pro Kids Show assembly and Pro Kids Family Show featuring Tim Hannig. Thanks to the generous support of the Sun Foundation, students had a blast and learned valuable lessons through these entertaining and educational performances.
In celebration of reaching our food drive goal in December, our students enjoyed a movie, pajama, and popcorn day on Friday, January 26th. Meanwhile, Mr. Wynn braved the elements and spent the day outside—a well-deserved reward for our students' generosity and community spirit.
Looking ahead to February, we have some exciting activities planned for our students. From February 12th to February 16th, students in grades kindergarten through fourth grade will have the opportunity to experience roller skating in PE, thanks to the generous donation from River Valley Pipe. We extend our heartfelt appreciation for their support, allowing our students to skate free during this fun-filled week.
Don't miss out on the Student Skate Night scheduled for Friday, February 16th, featuring a live DJ! It's sure to be an evening of laughter, music, and skating fun. We encourage students to join us for this special event. Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and on February 14th, our students will celebrate with Valentine's Day parties.
Looking further ahead, mark your calendars for the Spring Carnival scheduled for Saturday, March 16th. We are already in the early stages of planning, and we're reaching out to our fantastic Midland community for volunteers and donations to make this event a tremendous success. Your support is invaluable, and we thank you in advance for contributing to the vibrancy of our school community.
As always, we appreciate your continued partnership in fostering a positive and enriching learning environment for our students. If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Wishing you a wonderful February!
Sincerely,
Jason Wynn
