Principal's Message

LAST FRIDAY! Good Afternoon Alpine,

As we come to the end of a historic year I would like to say thank you for your patience and humanity. The past fifteen months have been challenging for everyone. Our children started off at home learning online and we were finally able to move to five days a week. Although we did not always see eye to eye we all have a common goal of helping kids get a great education.

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to four of our Dust Devil staff who will be leaving Joan MacQueen to practice their craft elsewhere. Mrs. Jane Smith and Mrs. Rebecca Darcey will be moving to Boulder Oaks to support teaching and learning for our primary students. Mr. Cummings and Mrs. Rose are leaving Alpine to practice their crafts at a different place closer to their home. You will all be missed and we wish you the best no matter where you land.

This week's edition of the Update is overflowing with important information. So please don't skip a page. 8th Grade parents, I look forward to seeing everyone bright and early Thursday at promotion.

Last Day of School Thursday, June 10th @ 11:30 am

8th Grade Computer Return

Promoting 8th-grade students will need to return the Chromebook that they were assigned by the school next week. The identification number was shared with your child by their Learning Strategies teacher. If they do not have their Chromebook they will not receive a yearbook until the device is returned or paid for.

If the device is damaged or missing its charger the family will be billed for the repair cost unless they have paid for the insurance.

All Students Book Return

All students need to begin returning their hardback Math and Dual Immersion textbooks. Those books can be returned to their Learning Strategies or math teacher. If your child checked out a hardback Science book you can keep that as a resource as we have adopted a new science curriculum.

Yearbook Distribution

Students will be receiving their 2021 yearbook next week. The books look fantastic and we do have about twenty-five books remaining. Those books can be purchased next week in the office for $55.00 cash. 8th-grade families can purchase a book on Tuesday and 6th and 7th-grade families can purchase their book starting on Wednesday.

Distance Learners can pick their books up anytime starting on Wednesday.
