PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
I wanted to say thank you to the 4th Grade. They did a great job participating in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). The feedback from the NAEP testers was glowing. They said our kids did a great job and were super polite. Thanks to the teachers, as it is not easy to modify schedules to make this happen.
For those of you who do drop off and/or pick up, you have noticed an increase in the line. The number of students being dropped off or picked up has increased. Thank you for your patience as I know the line can be frustrating. Please continue to be mindful of buses coming and going.
We have seen an increase in the number of students with smart watches. Please help us by reminding your child that smart watches and cell phones must be off and in their backpacks during the school day.

Kids Kindness Challenge
Wild Maine, an entirely volunteer-driven organization, presents the "Kids Kindness Challenge"! Wild Maine invites kids to engage in service, perform acts of kindness, and inspire moments of gratitude throughout the month of February. They are hoping to engage kids in activities every day throughout the month that connect them with themselves, their community, and their local environment. Challenges range from writing letters of gratitude to teachers to performing acts of kindness for their families. They are simple, age-appropriate and aim to inspire acts of intention over the course of the month. It's free to register and Dike-Newell Students have been invited to participate! The Bath YMCA donated 100 visitor passes that will be given to the first 100 kids who register.
Families CAN! has several upcoming parenting enrichment programs that are all FREE, and open to any parent, caregiver or community member. Currently, all programs are being offered by Zoom.
