A Note from Mrs. Pitts
I am passionate about taking anything off the teachers' plates, if possible, especially those details related to buses, questions about schedules or wonderings about school operations. PLEASE feel free to reach out to me at mpitts@sau50.org or the office at resoffice@sau50.org.
Yesterday we had out first community assembly with the children and staff. Here is a copy of the presentation. We went over some common signals and common expectations that help us build a respectful and supportive environment. I also wanted to share this incredible song written by our own Mrs. Piper, which she sang to the children and will be sung at our first celebration assembly!
We are going to have a great year. We know that building trust is important so if your child comes home with a question or information that causes you pause, email the teacher or me and we will piece together the information as a team.
Have an amazing long weekend!
Michelle Pitts, Principal
Thank you families!

Buses
For those of you who do not know, we have a bus tracking app available to families! Here is the guide and the district code is Y36L.
We are SO thankful to the Greenland principal and Anne Gilbert for working with me to get the buses here on time yesterday. Last year, the timing took months and for this to turn over in one day was nothing short of AMAZING. We do have some bus glitches still so if you need any help, please call 603-964-2322 or email bonnie.moore@firstgroup.com. We are so sorry if you are facing any frustration with transportation but we know they will help us figure out these issues!

Drop Off and Pick Up: Please read!
- STAFF ONLY should open car doors and help students in and out, which lessens the number of people between and amongst moving vehicles.
- We do ask that, at this point, everyone pull through the drop off line and not park as we do not want children and families crossing the parking lot, which further delays pick up.

Behavior Protocol from Mrs. Pitts
A visit to the principal's office, for me, is seen as either a safe space for any child to connect with me and visit or where students come to reflect on a choice they have made and learn how to make a different decision the next time. This can be challenging as I am fairly present and often have interactions with students to remind them of safe or kind ways to interact because I happen to be there. There may be times your child comes home and says they got into “trouble” with the principal when truly I just happened to be at recess, lunch or in a classroom when I needed to intervene and problem solve.
I want to share with you a method of communication that I will use to inform you if your child came to my office because of a choice that was unsafe or unkind (at a high level of course). This form allows you to see the exact words that were reported as well as the exact words that your child shared when discussing the situation with me. This form would ONLY come from the office (either from Mrs. Pitts, Mrs. Arsenault or Mrs. Smaracko who manage school behavior if I am not in the building).
Please note that this form will go home AND I will always call and the teacher will ALWAYS get a copy.
At RES, our teachers and staff are very skilled in managing peer conflicts and redirecting unexpected behaviors. We will continue to value open communication between school and home and share information with you whenever necessary.
