Gale Library
Librarian: Lynn Real Library Assistant: Katie Courville

Welcome to the Gale Library!
Our library, located in the middle of the two main hallways, is the heart of our school. The library serves many different purposes at Gale. At any given time there are students doing many different things and it isn't always quiet! Mrs. Real and Mrs. Courville are both teachers who love interacting with all the kids at Gale School.
All students come to the library once a week for a library lesson with Mrs. Real as part of the Specials Rotation (with Music and P.E.).
Book checkout can happen anytime the library is open. Students can be sent to the library from their classroom or they can come in during their lunch recess time.
The Creation Station is also available when the library is open. There are two activity choices each week and students can spend their lunch recess in the library. And reading books in comfy chairs is also an option!
Teachers have special passes that enable students to spend extra time in the library for reading or creation station activities anytime during their day.

Some of the things we love most about the Gale Library
The Creation Station
Gretta
Gretta is Mrs. Real's South African Pygmy Hedgehog. She is about 4 years old and came to live in the library last year! We love her.
Cozy Spots to Read
We have rocking chairs, bean bags, pillows, a "Reading Throne," and more! Students are ALWAYS welcome to find a comfy spot and read.
UH-OH, I lost / damaged my library book... now what?
Option 1:
Replace the book
- Find the same or similar book at Bookman's, Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc.
- Purchase the new (or very gently used) book.
- Bring the replacement to the library and we can immediately label and replace the book on our shelves.
Option 2:
Send in the required dollar amount or pay online
- Bring in the specified dollar amount to the Gale office and the office manager can input the money.
OR,
- Pay the specified amount online here.
- The replacement book will then be purchased by the library staff. We will get it through approved vendors and should be back on the shelves in a couple of months.
Library Book Home Hack!
Are you having trouble keeping track of your student's library books? Something we suggest implementing is a library book basket. Use this basket to keep Gale Library or public library books separate from your own collection. This also helps to keep books safe from pets, water spills, and other mishaps!
**Even easier, just keep your Gale Library books in your backpack! (without the water bottle haha)
