Family Update
Dublin Jerome High School

Take Responsibility, Always Growing, Better Together
September 2, 2022
A message from me...
Good Afternoon!
Everyone is excited for a long weekend after another productive week of school. The classrooms were active and students were engaged in a number of learning activities. It is so great to see them engaged and collaborating with each other.
We also held our Club Fair on Thursday and Friday for students to learn about the variety of clubs we have to offer. We encourage students to join at least one club they are interested in. It is a great way for students to stay connected with school. I am also including the most up to date approved Club List if you would like to take a look.
We have a very busy week ahead culminating with our home football game on Friday Night vs. Dublin Coffman. We are very excited about this community event and are looking forward to the excitement and celebration that this event offers. There will be a number of communications from me next week regarding Game Day Operations. If you are planning to attend, please be sure to take some time review this communication. This will ensure a smooth game day experience.
This is a showcase event for both Coffman, Jerome and Dublin City Schools. It is important that while we will compete on the field next Friday, we as a community have the opportunity to come together and celebrate! This will be an amazing night and fun for all! Looking forward to seeing everyone! Go Celts!
Better Together,
Mike

Attendance Reminders
Helpful attendance reminders:
- If your student will be absent from school the best way to communicate with the attendance office is via email djhs_attendance@dublinschools.net
- Calls placed to the attendance line are not excused absences. Students must bring written documentation of the absence from the parent on the day of his/her return.
- Per House Bill 410, failure to supply written documentation of the absence will result in an unexcused absence and the student may be considered truant. Additionally, once a student accumulates 38 hours in one month or 65 hours in a school year, only a doctor’s note will be accepted as written documentation of an excused absence.
- Please understand, if you call the school to report your students' absence, per district policy in accordance with HB 66, you will receive a call from the automated system.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact
