Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Arrival
Our doors open at 7:15 a.m. each morning to receive students. Parents may utilize either the North or South Drive through lanes to drop off students, or park in the North parking lot and walk students across the crosswalk to enter the building. We ask that students not be dropped off in the parking lot and allowed to cross without a parent/guardian. Thank you for ensuring that our students arrive to school safely.
Dismissal
Our students are dismissed at 3:20 each day. Students go home via bus, daycare, walk-home, or drive through. The North Drive-through (Red) is designated for last names that begin with A-L. The South Drive-through (Yellow) is designated for students' last names that begin with M-Z. If siblings have different last names, we use the youngest student's last name. If you are using the drive-through, please have your car tag hanging when you enter the line, so that it will scan properly. Car tags can be obtained in the front office. If you need to change your child's dismissal procedure, please contact the office prior to 2:30 p.m. to make changes.

Books Beginning at Birth
Books Beginning at Birth is a great program that will get books into the hands of kids! This is a statewide program that provides young children birth to age 4 and their families access to books and resources to support the development of early literacy skills and foster a love of reading. Here is the website https://www.b3tx.org/.
Suzuki Strings @ East Elementary
A new after-school program is available to fourth and fifth grade students this school year! Twice a week, students will have the opportunity to learn to play the violin in a Suzuki Strings class!
This program is offered at no cost, but families will be asked to provide their own instruments. See the flyer below for more information about Suzuki Strings!

2022-2023 LCISD Meal Information
Federal funding for all students to receive free school meals is no longer available to school districts. This means that students must either pay for school meals or qualify for free or reduced-price school meals for the 2022-23 school year.
School meal prices for the 2022-23 school year are:
Breakfast $2.00
Grades PK -5 Lunch $3.00
Grades 6-12 Lunch $3.25
There is a possibility that your child may qualify for free or reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). To find out if the children in your household are eligible for free or reduced-price meals, simply complete the Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals online or paper form.
Here is some important information about applying for free and reduced-price meals:
Any family can apply. There is no penalty for families who apply and do not qualify.
Families who have not qualified in the past may qualify this year, as income eligibility qualifications have been adjusted.
The application and free or reduced-price meal status are completely confidential. Teachers, administrators, and fellow students do not have access to this information and will have no way of knowing which children receive free and reduced-price meals.
Children who receive free or reduced-price meals have the same food options as children who do not. There are no “special lunch lines” or different menu items for these students.
Qualifying for free and reduced-price meals may provide access to many additional benefits, including:
Pandemic EBT benefits
Reduced registration fees for AP, SAT, and/or ACT tests
Free or discounted participation fees for activities
Discounted rates associated with college applications
Discounted rates on internet services
To complete the Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals online:
If you have an existing account, select “Login”; if you do not have an existing account, select “Guest Login”
Follow the prompts to complete the application process. (The application will ask for your child’s student ID number, but if you do not know your child’s student ID number, you will be able to look it up using your child’s full name and date of birth.)
If you prefer to complete a paper Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals:
Paper applications are available at any LCISD campus office, the district’s main office, and during fall open houses.
Return your paper application to any LCISD campus office or the district’s main office.
If you have any questions about school meals or the application process for free and reduced-price meals, please contact:
