Head Cheetah's Message
Dear Families,
Just like that we are into the month of October. As we wrap up our first full month of school, we are amazed by how much our memorial Cheetahs have already grown. They are fast into their daily routines, growing their minds, and strengthening their citizenship skills. This past month we've been discussing "Teamwork", which is one of our profile of a graduate principles. Our cheetahs have been putting forth the effort to be great teammates, and have been working together to problem solve. Whether it was encouraging a classmate to keep running at the Jog-A-thon, helping out a group member with an activity, or helping a friend deliver a message down to the office, teamwork has been a big part of September at Memorial School!
Best,
Joey and Andrea

Physical Education
Hi everyone! Our Elementary children began the year with both feet running and their bodies in full motion!
The Preschool, Kindergarten and First Graders have been working hard to polish up their foot skills with a unit on dribbling, passing, receiving and soccer moves! We have also taught movement ( skipping and galloping) through games such as Pac Man, Train Game and Stop/Go.
Second and third graders also began the year with a soccer-related foot skills unit.
The children take a lot of pride in their ability to possess the ball and juggle it with their feet. Many new soccer moves are introduced and small sided games give the children the chance to show off their skills!
All skills are taught in a progressive, age-appropriate manner, with the skill level increasing as children move up in grades. Our goals are to keep the children as active as we can, develop individual and group cooperative skills, foster good sportsmanship and fair play, and last but definitely not least - HAVE FUN WHILE WE LEARN!
