President’s message
Happy New Year! I hope you’re all recovering from the holidays and welcoming the renewal of a new year being upon us. Thinking back to the end of the year, I’d like to take a moment to thank Lynne Corn for hosting us at her home for our annual meeting when we needed to make a last moment change to our plans. As always, she presented us with a fantastic meal. Thank you also to those club members who were able to join us. It was a lovely opportunity to catch up with everyone. In December, Lynne, Kathy Dimond, and Roger Orrock led the charge as NCBCC was represented in the Annual Christmas Scottish Walk in Alexandria. We appreciate their continued support of this event rain or shine! The rainy walk wrapped up our events for 2018 and we’re headed into planning for 2019.
Please share any ideas you may have or events you may be interested in organizing or supporting. Also, watch your email for a survey about events and activities for this year. We’ll be working hard to plan outings of interest to our membership. Included in this newsletter you will find membership renewal forms as well as trophy sponsorship donation forms. Please be sure to renew your membership by February 28, 2019. You can pay your dues either by mailing a check to our club treasurer, Lucy Campbell-Gracie, or by sending payment via PayPal to ncbcctreasurer@gmail.com. If you choose the PayPal option, please be sure to select the Friends and Families option so that the club isn’t charged a fee. Trophy sponsorship donations can also be made through PayPal. Please notate the amount and what trophy you are sponsoring as well as email Casey at timandcasey@verizon.net to coordinate the sponsorship details.
Our next event will be at the end of this month in conjunction with the all-breed conformation shows being held at the Richmond Raceway Complex, in Richmond, VA. Join us in the afternoon on January 26, 2019 (hopefully after Beardies show!). Roger and Kathy have graciously agreed to host at their home in Richmond, along with cohost Gail Greene. This event will be a potluck, with a main course and drinks provided. Please plan to bring a side dish or dessert to share. We will share an exact start time closer to the event when the schedule for the show is posted.
Happy New Year!
