We had a real nail biter in the Dome on Saturday evening! The Pretzels took the Routt Rockets into overtime for a 30-29 Victory! We are looking forward to an exciting basketball season! Congratulations to Gannon Dodd and Kevin Howell for earning All-Tournament Team!

Caroline Peters and Mae Bandelow made the All Tournament Team for the Waverly Turkey Tournament!

They ended up placing 3rd in the tournament overall!

We are so proud of these pretzel athletes!

The Scholastic Bowl team went 2-6 at the IHSSBCA Kickoff Tournament at Lincoln High School last Saturday. They beat Quincy 215-170 and beat Lincoln 230-195. Overall, Orie Knox answered 1 toss-up correctly. Carter Clair answered 2. Corren Watson answered 3. Landon Hagerman and Ethan Perry both answered 6, including 1 for power. Tyler Hulett answered 46, including 7 for power. Tyler placed 3rd individually, out of 150 players, averaging 72 points per game.

NBHS Pretzel Alumni, Ethan Mudd, returned to talk to Juniors and Seniors about how the National Guard impacted his life after high school.

NBHS Q2 PBIS Incentives

The SALTY Student Leadership Team met at the beginning of Quarter 2 and finalized the Q2 Incentives, planned some Freshman Seminar Topics (which will start the week of November 28th), and the Q2 Incentive Party.

9th-11th Grade students will take the Reading and Math MAP Benchmark Assessments this week.

Students that have been working in IXL that meet the Reading and Math Benchmark of 230 will earn a Semester Exam Coupon! Keep working on those skills, Pretzels!

9th -12th Grade students will take the Panorama Survey this week!

The HS will dismiss for semester exams on Tuesday and Wednesday at 2:20. We have done this every year since we moved off of the block. On Tuesday, students that ride the bus go to the Dome and are supervised by a staff member until the buses arrive at 3:10.

For this month we decided to interview some of the Elementary kids that we mentor! The mentoring program is when a group of NHS students go over to the elementary school and hang out with kids from all grades. They were so excited to dress up and take pictures so we found it fitting to ask them some questions!

The questions were:

• What is your favorite Halloween candy?

• What is your favorite Halloween color?

Check out the kids answers and there super cute Halloween costumes.

Chapter 9 of the NBHS Student Handbook outlines the requirements for Student Incentives regarding how to earn Semester Exam Coupons: Prestigious Pretzel and Student Achievement on the SAT/PSAT. We have added an incentive for students in grades 9-11 that take the MAP assessment this winter! The information is outlined in the NBHS Daily Agenda that is shared with students each day in Advisory - the slide below explains the criteria.

Students that did not meet the grade level benchmark on the Fall MAP for Math and/or Reading have the opportunity to take the IXL Diagnostic Assessment to identify skills that need to be strengthened in an effort to support academic achievement. If students meet the Math and Reading benchmarks on the Winter MAP Assessment, they will receive a semester exam coupon! Details regarding what your child needs to do for IXL are explained below.
