North Crawford Elementary Family Newsletter
Hello NC Families,
The month of October brings unpredictable weather. As a family, it can be hard to know what to dress your child in for the day. Our students spend at least 50 minutes outdoors daily. Dressing in layers for the weather helps ensure that time is enjoyable.
Our behavior data has shown a slight uptick in instances of disrespect towards staff and other students in comparison to previous school years. Over the next three weeks we will be working as a school around what respect looks and sounds like. As a family, it would be helpful if you could follow up these reteachings with conversations at home. The most common occurrences are work refusal and following directions. Helping students to understand their jobs as learners helps the classroom flow in a productive manner.
October 22nd will bring an exiting National Honor Society event - the Fall Festival. The day will be an expanded version of the previous years' haunted walk with games, concessions, a Trunk or Treat, and a silent auction. All proceeds from the event go to the Food4Kids Program. An important program that provides a bag of food each Friday for the weekend when the child is not in school. Food4Kids is an effort to meet the very real need of hunger in our community and the event is a major fundraiser! The event itself is free with a donation encouraged and there will be items for sale there as well. I am helping to coordinate the Silent Auction. If you or your employer may be interested in donating an item for the Silent Auction please reach out via email or phone directly. 608-624-5201
We hope to see many of our families there!
