The General Music Concert is Monday, December 18th at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome; doors will open at 1:30 p.m. for seating. The concert should wrap up at 3 p.m. After the concert, families are welcome to pick up their child in the classroom where cookies will be served for students and families.
Band, Orchestra, and Choir concert is Tuesday, December 19th at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
We encourage families to talk about concert attire and etiquette. Students are welcome to dress up!
The General Music dress rehearsal is Monday, December 18th at 9 a.m. This is for students and staff; however, if a family is unable to attend the afternoon performance, you are welcome to attend the morning dress rehearsal. We kindly ask that you notify Ms. Char if you are planning to attend the dress rehearsal. The dress rehearsal for Band, Orchestra, and Choir is Tuesday, December 19th at 2 p.m.; families who are unable to attend the evening concert are welcome to attend this, again please notify Ms. Char in advance.
We loved our baked potato bar! Thank you to Children’s House Room Parents for putting this together (Jen Jacobs and Abbey Karrels)! Also, thank you to the PTSA and Craig Travis (Dominic’s dad) for coming in and stocking our amazing staff lounge! Check out the pictures below!
Our Battle of the Books is up and running. Thanks to our coaches: Jamie Eral, Jenni Paruluski, Kate Avila, Kelly DiGiancinot, Maria Albert, Ming Hwong, Erin Quasney, Jen Jacobs, and Jason Stasiewicz, Nataly Paine, Laura Barbieri, Monica Anderson, and Sally Courtney!
Our next Literacy Committee is on Monday, December 18th at 3:30 p.m. in the office, AP room or other location if needed. Parents and guardians interested in joining are welcome! We are planning our All School Read, our Book Fair, and our Literacy Night!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to Ms. Zheng’s Donor’s Choose Project! Ms. Zheng’s class is thrilled to be getting a new literacy corner.
Thank to Ms. Emily Brenner’s classroom community for putting together a stellar coffee stand to benefit Tosa Cares! A special thanks to the UE students, Ms. Emily Brenner, Ms. Lakshmi, Ming Hwong, Steve Grisetti, and Jenelle Leavell! Service learning is vital to our work as a Montessori school, and thanks to all who purchased items over the past couple of days! Collectively $420 was raised!
Oliver Lakatos finished 4th in the MidAmerica region for under 10 year old boys in Irish Dance. This qualified him to dance (again) at the North American Championships next July and for his first time (now that he’s old enough) at the World Irish Dance Championships the end of next March in Glasgow, Scotland.
Lego League Update… This weekend The 4th grade LEGO league team has their competition this Saturday, Dec 2nd, at Riverside High School. The team includes Toby Stasiewicz, Tyler Fritsch, Gryffin Trenholme in UE1, and Sean Muldoon and Jack Brashear in UE2. Thank you to Jason Stasiewicz, Tom Muldoon, and Geoff Trenholme for leading this league!
