A message from our Executive Director
Dear GLOBE community,
Our morning coffee talks began on Tuesday this week. For those unable to attend, Mrs Burrow's presentation, 'Gifted at GLOBE', can be viewed here. Today, our Director of Operations, Cortney Flowers, and Officer Mark Bollinger, hosted a webinar about Safety at GLOBE. You can watch the recording of this by clicking here (pw: x^P9rxyQ). Check out the schedule below for more upcoming coffee talks in the weeks ahead.
Please do not use Shallowford Presbyterian Church and School as a drop off/pick up point for Upper Campus
It has been brought to our attention that some GLOBE families are using the parking lot of the Shallowford Presbyterian Church and School (SPC) as a pick up and drop off location for GLOBE students. This location is not a part of our school dismissal plan and is causing considerable issues with SPC's own operations. Please do not use this location. GLOBE strongly encourages use of the Upper Campus carpool. At peak times, carpool will only take around 10 minutes of your time, from entry to exit. We want our school community to be good neighbors to those around us. Please refer to the Upper Campus notes below, and today's safety talk, for further parking and traffic related information.
In community,
Christi Elliott-Earby
Executive Director

We will hold our parent/teacher conferences on October 5-6 (no school on those days) and we will be having a Hispanic Heritage Celebration on October 14. Further details to come.
The weekly COVID testing site at LC will be moved outdoors from today, Wednesday, September 21. It will be held along the walkway outside the walker door pick up.
Upper Campus
We are pleased to share some pictures of 6th grade students recently completing an ELA class outside in the courtyard.
6th grade Rock Eagle trip, September 29
Pick up and drop off arrangements: The buses will be in the Church in Atlanta parking lot at 2345 Shallowford Road NE at 8am. Parents can drop off there from 7:30am when HR begins. Buses will leave at 8:30am. We will return to the same location on Friday afternoon.
Important: All students must show a negative Covid test result before getting on the bus. You can sign up for in-school Covid testing using this link.
Parking and pick up at Upper Campus
Parking in residential areas
Please remember that Sunset Drive (and the surrounding roads) are residential areas. When parking in these areas it is imperative that you drive slowly and watch closely for pedestrians and pets. Also, please refrain from parking your vehicle right up to the edge of Briarcliff Road. This makes it difficult and dangerous for those who are attempting to exit Sunset Drive onto Briarcliff Road.
Morning carpool
Please remember to turn right when exiting the carpool line in the morning. Please refrain from making a U-turn on Briarcliff Road since it causes a serious disruption to the traffic for the entire road.
Afternoon carpool
Please do not arrive for afternoon carpool until 2:30pm. If you arrive before 2:30pm, then you will disrupt our PE classes taking place at the rear of the main parking area.
GLOBE Athletics
The girls volleyball A team defeated Epstein yesterday 2-1 in a very close match. The A team won their last game in a tournament this past weekend at Tsunami South and the C team play this weekend on Saturday. Good Luck girls and go GLOBE!
GLOBE soccer B team are 'the team to beat' as they put in another excellent performance against Intown Community School at Silverbacks Park on Monday, to achieve a comfortable victory. Some photos from the match are shown below.
