The transportation department is going to be adding a bus to Rockport. This will help shorten the routes for the bus drivers and will allow them to get to their next school sooner. There will be no changes for students riding bus 87 & 10. All other buses will have a change. You will be getting a correspondence from the district this weekend letting you know the new bus number and pick up times. If you child is being reassigned to a different bus please jot a note or send an email to his or her classroom teacher with the change.

With chilly temperatures here we already have many coats and jackets in our lost and found. If your child is missing an item please have them check lost and found.

We have had a lot of falls on the playground resulting in injuries. I am asking that you have your children wear tennis shoes to school every day. Sandals, flip flops and heeled boots are not appropriate for running around on gravely asphalt.

We are also having an issue with students needing a change of clothes during the school day. Please make sure that your children have a spare change of clothes in their bookbags. This would be beneficial for all students not just the younger grades.

We are excited to have our first Color Run next Friday, October 20th. Parents are welcome to come and participate with your child, but registration for each is required. There is still time to register, you just will not get an event t-shirt. The last day to register is Wednesday, October 18th. Students can also work to collect Pledges/Donations and those are also due on Oct. 18. Information about the Pledge/Donations and Incentives.

Here is the plan for the Color Run Event next Friday, October 20th.

8:30– Parent Check In (check in table on the side parking lot) & go to the Parent Waiting Section on the back playground.

8:40– Students who are participating in Color Run will be called outside, then spectating classes will come out.

9:00– Event Announcements and START

Finish–Participant COLOR BLAST in the field.

We will have leaf blowers to help blow off the first layer of color. Students who are participating in the Color Run MUST bring a change of clothes to change for the rest of the school day.

T-shirts will be sent home prior to Friday for those who were pre-registered for a t-shirt.
