It is important that you start checking your child's grades regularly early in the school year. For our 6th graders, letter grades and missing assignments are new to them.

We often offer incentives that we call "Go Green", these are incentives specifically for students with zero missing assignments. Your reminders can help your child earn these incentives.

Our first Go Green Incentive is scheduled for this Friday, September 17th. All students that have zero missing assignments on Thursday will receive an edible treat on Friday afternoon. This is our way of rewarding those positive behaviors and encouraging our students to keep working hard!

The first delayed start of the year will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 15th. At the Junior High, this means that school starts at 10:00am. Our doors will open for the day at 9:30am. Students will report to their 2nd hour class first so that they can have breakfast as soon as they arrive that day. A daily schedule is posted below.

Every week when we conduct a new lesson, we will let families know what is covered so that you can continue to support the initiative from home.

Topics this Week

This week your child will learn how their brains grow when they try something new and the impact that experience and practice have on brain development.

8th graders will discuss how their identity is unique to them and create an identity map.

Continuing the Conversation at Home

You can continue the conversation by discussing a time that you had to learn something challenging and how you persisted in learning it.

8th grade families can discuss the important aspects of you and your child's identity and why those items are important to you and your family.
