We hope you enjoyed your mid-winter break and found time to rest and re-engergize for the remainder of the school year!

As classes resume, please be mindful that we are quickly approaching the end of the first 5 weeks of the 3rd marking period. Grades will be finalized for interim reports on March 4th. If you are having a difficult time with your classes, please speak with your teacher(s) and/or school counselor to work on a plan to help you be more successful. With only 4 months left in the school year, it will be important to make every effort now to own your education!

Throughout the month of March, the school counselors will begin the scheduling process for the 2022-2023 school year. Students will work alongside their counselor to go over their academic transcript and review NYS graduation requirements. Students will have the opportunity to discuss potential career goals and align elective course selections to their interests. What if we were able to shift the way that we view our challenges? Rather than a set-back, perhaps it is an opportunity to learn and grow. Often times, students can be their own biggest enemy when it comes to how they view themselves. Self doubt and negative self-talk can pour into all aspects of our lives. Growth Mindset is a concept that aims to shift the way we think about things in order to achieve our own goals. The next time you fail or don't meet your expectations, try reshaping the way that you look at the situation. Rather than saying, "I'm not good at this," try to say, "this may take me a little extra time and effort." Check out the picture below to help change the words you may use on a regular basis!

Class of 2022, what are your plans for next year? With roughly 16 weeks left in your high school career, it is time to start planning what life will look like for you after graduation! College Bound Seniors -

Financial Aid: It is very important that students and families take the time to complete the Free Application for Student Aid in order to recieve finanicial aid for college! This application is done ONLINE and should take roughly 40 minutes to complete. You will need the following information in order to complete the form: your social security number, your driver's liscense (if any), W-2 forms from 2 years prior, your (and/or your parents') Federal Income Tax Return from two years prior, any untaxed income records for two years prior and any current bank statements. If you need help with completing this application, please contact your school counselor to set up an appointment with you and your parent(s).

11th grade students sat through a presentation by school counselors during Social Citizenship class that provided important information regarding the college application process, college exploration, the branches of our military, skilled trade career paths and employability. Counselors are available by appointment to meet with students and parents to develop more individual plans for post graduate planning.

The SAT and the ACT will be offered on the following dates. The cost of the SAT is $55 and The ACT has a basic fee of $60.00. If you believe that the cost of the exam may present a hardship for your family, you may be eligible for a fee waiver. Please see your school counselor if you need assistance signing up for an exam. All registration is done online for each exam.
