This week we had our first key assembly and our students in Pre-K and Kindergarten took their first field trips. They had a blast and loved taking learning on the road!

In other news here are a few pieces of news from Berryton:

• Parent Teacher Conferences- This is happening next week and times are still available. Our staff can't wait to visit with each of you!

• Calling Buffalo Families for Site Council-We would love to have families join our Site Council. Application is below.

• Library Book Return- Library overdue book notices will be sent next week via email. Please encourage your child to return any overdue library books so that they will be able to check out a new book. If you have any questions, stop by the library media center before or after your classroom parent teacher conference. We also invite you to stop by and check out our library happenings for this school. "Reading is sweet at BES!

• Halloween Costume Expectations-
  

1. No fake blood or gory masks or costumes.
2. No inappropriate or offensive clothing.
3. No weapons of any kind.
4. No full face paint (it gets on the walls).
5. No live animals.

• Sign Ups for Teacher Meals- If you are willing to support our staff with desserts during parent teacher conferences sign the form below.

• We will celebrate on Tuesday, October 26.
• Please send students to school with their Halloween costumes on. Feel free to send a change of clothing so that students are more comfortable.

A. Building Wide Trick or Treating

• All classes will follow the parade route as shown on the map. Classes will go outside on the east side and walk across the front entrance and towards the bus circle.
• Parents and family members are welcome to stand on the perimeter of the sidewalk and hand out pre-packaged and store bought treats.

C. Calling For Candy

• Parents please help us and send candy to the school and staff will hand it out to students.

As an elementary principal I enjoy working collaboratively with staff members to support student learning. I am passionate about continuing to learn professionally, and building relationships with staff and students at Berryton Elementary. When I'm not serving at Berryton Elementary I am usually with my husband and two sons. We can be found at sporting events, cheering on Kansas State University, or just enjoying a movie at home.
