Throughout February, Dallas ISD is observing Black History Month. This year’s national theme, A Century of Black Life, History and Culture, not only celebrates the impact African Americans have made in history but recognizes the important work of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, established in 1915. In 1926, the organization founded Black History Week, which later grew into Black History Month. Below is a small clip of the famous "I have a dream" speech by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Durante todo el mes de febrero, Dallas ISD celebrará el Mes de la Historia Afroamericana. PTO will be having their meeting on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 6:00 pm in the library. If you would like to get more involved in your student's school, and get more information, please come by, and join us on Thursday.

Sweetheart Dance will be Friday, February 9, 2024 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. All Silberstein Students are invited, to come and have fun. Students from Pre-K through 2nd Grade must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or an adult.

Pre-sale tickets are $5 per person

Tickets at the door will be $7 per person

There will be a concession stand. (cash only)

There will be a photo booth, $5 per picture.

The dance will be in the cafeteria.

Parents, reminder, if your child is absent, please submit an excuse note within 3 days. Our attendance goal is 97% for the school year, please make sure your student is here every day.

Our doors open at 7:30am, school starts at 8:00am.

After 8:05am, parents must sign students in, in the main office.

After 8:20am, it is a partial day absence.

No early release after 2:30pm.

Brighter Bites will be here Friday, February 9th and ,23rd 2024. Please make sure to pick up your fresh fruits and vegetables. We will also need your help. If you have some free time on these Fridays, please come by the school and help us fill up bags with fresh fruits and vegetables.

You are invited to the largest STEM expo in Texas. Students will explore, design, and create real-world STEM activities at no cost at the 2024 Dallas ISD STEM Expo. It’s happening Saturday, Feb. 3, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The Dallas ISD STEM EXPO will feature over 100 interactive exhibits and serve as the culmination event for the District’s STEM competitions, including: First Lego League, VEX IQ and VRC Robotics, Coding Competition, and Tech Connect.
