Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe, Try Your Best

August 19, 2022
Family Conferences
Family Conferences will take place on Wednesday, August 31st (11:00-7:00) & Thursday, September 1st (7:30-3:30). Here is the link to sign up for a time to meet with your child's teacher: https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Bridgewater_Elementary_School You will have the opportunity to meet with your child's teacher, complete paperwork electronically, and discuss the coming school year. You know your child best, and we want to learn from you how to best meet the needs of your child. We also need to know how best to communicate with you in case we need to reach you. Thank you for making this time a priority!
Free or Reduced Lunch Application
Breakfast and lunch are no longer free as they had been the past two years. Here are the links to apply for free or reduced price lunch: https://northfieldschools.org/wp-content/uploads/English-application-and-letter.pdf and https://northfieldschools.org/wp-content/uploads/Spanish-application-and-letter-by-MV.pdf.
Elementary iPads
We all remember when COVID-19 hit and necessitated that we send iPads home with our elementary students. Obviously, those emergency conditions have changed. The primary purpose of iPads is to support and accelerate student learning. As such, they need to be reliable and available for students while at school. iPads will not be sent home with elementary students this year to prioritize that purpose. We understand this may be an adjustment for some students, and at the same time, we believe it will be a positive solution and a "reset" for the 2022-2023 school year. Parents and guardians will not be required to purchase iPad insurance for students in grades K-5. Also, the district's e-Learning Plan is being adjusted so that elementary students do not need to bring their iPads home in the case of poor weather
IPad Insurance Fee
The iPad insurance fee will not be needed since the iPads will remain at school. A refund will be sent to those parents/guardians who have previously made this payment.
Note from the Bridgewater Booster Club (BBC)
The Bridgewater Booster Club (BBC) is the parent group for Bridgewater Elementary. This group meets every month, and you are welcome to attend! The first meeting of the year will be held on Sept. 13th from 6:00pm-7:00pm in the Media Center. See flyer below.
Communication
Communication is very important to me, and I want to make sure that you are informed about the events that happen at Bridgewater. I will email a newsletter every Friday. You are always welcome to email me if you have questions, concerns or suggestions. Bridgewater is your school and I want you to be a part of your child's education.

Instruments No Longer Needed
Do you have a flute, trumpet, violin or other instrument that has been abandoned by someone with a change of heart? We are always seeking donations of gently used band and orchestra instruments for our students who may not have the funds, but are eager to learn to play. Your instrument could play on through another student. Feel free to contact Natalie Kruger, Stefanie Bothun or the Northfield Fine Arts Boosters (NorthfieldFAB@gmail.com) if you are able to make a musical or monetary donation.
